Plenty of room for both of you on the front porch to yell at the kids on the lawn....

I'm sure I'll check this out, but pretty much everything Roine Stolt is in ends up sounding about the same. Nothing here to make me think this will be any different.

I'm looking forward to this with guarded anticipation. It could be either great or terrible.

All jokes aside, this is one of the things I’m most looking forward to once I’m old and retired.
I love being that annoying guy that kids just hate or even worse, are embarrassed about. Yesterday we were out for a drive and I started dancing in the front seat which made my 7 year old son hide his head so no one could see he was in the same car as me and he kept going “daaaaaad, pleeeeeease stop it” lol.

Well, that whopping 20-30 clip doesn't sound like any Stolt I've heard. Sounds heavy, and rockingish actually.

Stolt, Gildenlow, Minnemann, and Reingold? GTFO - I'm betting this is gonna be great.

wait and listen with somewhat mild expectations. The sample sounds a little heavier than I pictured for "Art Rock."

Gildenlow + Brislin are the curiosity here. Tom Brislin's 1 solo record I checked out a few months ago and enjoyed it more than I expected.

The sample didn't do much in the way to interest me unfortunately.....

Maybe an entire song will help

LOL...... You are right about that for sure. Interested to hear how this fits into the album as a whole. Curiosity is piqued.

I've heard the album, and I find it a bit odd. It's actually softer and slower than I was expecting, and with far more concise songs than these guys are used to. If anything, it actually reminds me of the second Flying Colors album, where it's almost a bunch of prog guys doing 'conventional' songs. I was a bit disappointed in it, to be honest.

that sounds potentially good as an album that is predictably prog, likely would end up rather run-of-the-mill.

Something more straight forward, from these guys, and hopefully emphasizes melodies, may end up coming out well.

I have gone from 'blind buy' to 'yeah, I'll have to hear the whole thing first'.

My assumption was that this would be a Roine Stoldt project, featuring Daniel Gildenlow..... Much like their other collaborations. Instead, this sounds like exactly the opposite. Definitely has the gritter / harsher modern PoS sound to it. Still interested to hear the rest, as this is promising.

Just gave it the first spin and haven't listened to the bonus tracks yet. I liked it.

It's not as rockin' as the lineup might suggest. It is at times quite jazzy (there are a couple of extended solos - sax and piano - that are straight-up jazz), majestic, and sometimes just 'nice'. Yeah, there are parts that move a good clip, but I'd say overall the music is 'varied'. I'd listen to Gildenlow sing the phone book, and he's in good form. I'm a little surprised that Casey McPherson isn't credited as a band member, because he sings lead a fair amount, too, and is every bit as effective as Daniel is. Musically, I mostly noticed 1) what a spaz Minnemann is, and 2) Jonas Reingold being his typical beastly self - a true bass players bass player.

I will gladly spin this again shortly.

EDIT: Yep, like the bonus tracks, too. Gildenlow sings all of these.

I'm still on the fence with grabbing this, but I'm wondering about the bonus tracks. Are they only on the digipak version?
Btw - I''ve only heard the samples/tracks posted.

Just loading it up in Spotify. 4 bonus tracks? Really?
