A few more for you folks to check out (and maybe a website to bookmark)
So after stumbling across this website https://theprogressivesubway.wordpress.com/ I have found a bunch of new discs to listen to. I can safely say I went into that site thinking I'd heard most things but boy howdy was I wrong. I surfed through a bunch and fished out a few I know I'll like and maybe you will to.
Hạc San https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjbHaAccaBE
This is some pure 90s prog metal worship with a capital Larry D. From Vietnam! They just released a new 29 minute epic so that alone should tell you the level these dudes are playing at.
Sentire https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzNgfR1yv0Y
Symphonic? Check. Proggy? Check. Heavy? Checkmate. Usually you have to live with only two of those so when somebody gets the fucking trifecta you need to pay attention.
Dreamwalkers Inc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXXTgTFDwGI
2 vocalists, choir-like layers, warm AF melodies. Sounds like something folk would like here. This is apparently a side-project of TDW so they sound similar to them. f you are familiar with TDW then you will already have an idea of the quality on display here. if you aren't familiar with TDW then go remedy that, I'll wait here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y21kGluUjCg
Posthumanbigbang https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHu6d_ILGgQ
Orphaned Land fans should point their ears this way. They are even a bit proggier in scope IMO.
Black Painted Moon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vy8wE2 ... UuZCNwzm3t_
SFAM/6DOIT DT-inspired prog metal with a female vocalist who goes for a bit more American folksy/jazzy sound. Does that sound up your street? Hit the gas!
Keep Rockin' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XgK3oIzXMQ
You would be forgiven for thinking this band is....probably some crappy hard rock. Nope. Try on some Threshold/later Fates Warning inspired prog metal. They have a couple discs with a great male vocalist but their new disc has an equally great female vocalist. No really, try on these Polskis and see if they fit!

So -that's- where the humidifier went.

This one is really good - I liked the first spin through it. Will probably pick it up. I hear some SymX, some Luca Turilli, some really awesome guitar hero antics and the singer can hold his own.Psychotic Symphony wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 3:58 pmSentire https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzNgfR1yv0Y

The other ones didn’t do it for me, but it was a first hearing a band sing in Vietnamese so thank you for giving us that experience haha. And the one you compared to Orphaned Land was more “ uniquely interesting” than good.

I attempted the Sintire and couldn't follow along with every songs having the same double bass tempo. Just too much speed too much of the time kind of muddying the compositions. IT's good for what it is, but I couldn't listen to more than ten minutes straight of this stuff.
Keep Rockin is interesting. There's a lot good going on here but there's something holding it back for me, and I'm not entirely sure what. The singer is pleasant enough and reminds me of the dude from Alias Eye. I'll keep playing this one as it has the most potential for me of the ones posted.
BTW, thank you for this post. These threads are the great resources for new stuff

I was thinking she sounded like Amy Winehouse at times but Nora Jones is probably more accurate.
Bought the album and it's excellent. More people should check them out.

I picked up the Black Painted Moon after Bandcamp informed me Glenn'd bought it. It's quite good. I still need to check out the other entries on this list.

A little bit of stalking saves me a ton of effort.
Only if he'd bought them on Bandcamp.introclaus wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 5:13 pmDid it also tell you when he picked up the new Kanye and Tayler Swift collab CD?

Black Painted Moon is a winner. Needs a vinyl release.
