...Alessandro del Vecchio!

Apparently I should have heard of him, given the massive size of his resume.

Mixed but irrelevant feelings on this.

Ale is a great player, songwriter and vocalist(I know Claus can't stand him). He's a super nice guy and I'm happy for him but this seems like a mismatch of style. Gunter had his own sound that he perfected over 3 decades. I don't see Del Vechio being able to live up to it.

The irrelevant part is I'm not much of a VP fan, so this matters very little to me. Just an observation.

I don't think I've said I can't stand him, but I do feel he has been overused by Frontiers, and I don't think his songwriting capabilities are good enough to be doing that much "supposedly different yet all sounding alike" music.

His playing capabilities are just fine and I think for EoF his vocals are fine enough (although not my style).

It's a pretty decent track - the instrumental unison is very neat and the structure of the verse riff feels a little more jagged, and the symphonic outro does feel like del Vecchio's stamp. Still otherwise mostly the same as usual. Stephan Lill wrote the entire album so you may expect a more guitar-driven work.
