April Wine: My greatest find of 2023 and a very sad news

Post by GaetanL » Sun Dec 03, 2023 10:28 pm

I had only a "best of" album of April Wine. After having bought the boxset "Classic Album Set" released in 2016, I decided to go for a full update.

What a great hard rock band! This is my greatest find of 2023!

As I'm working on my website and do some research online about April Wine, I realized that the leader, main song writer, guitarist, singer of the band, Myles Goodwyn, passed away today. This is very sad.

Sad news indeed ....... one of my go to obscure bands in the 80s ....... I loved them back in the day. One of the bands I never got to see live for some reason......

R.I.P. Myles = thanks for all of the great music.

Ok, lot of April Wine recently... :-)

For those unfamiliar with the band, I would recommend to start with "The Nature Of The Beast" released in 1981. It is included in the box set "Classic Album Set" of 2016. This box set includes the following studio albums:

"First Glance" (1978)
"Harder... Faster" (1979)
"The Nature Of The Beast" (1981)
"Power Play" (1982)
"Animal Grace" (1984)

If you like "The Nature Of The Beast", I recommend also all the other studio albums in this box set. They are all excellent!

For those who haven't follow the band after the 80s, I recommend:

"Back To The Mansion" (2001): Excellent!

If you are then looking for a live album, I recommend:

"One For The Road" (1985): Excellent!
