Alright, if you thought we were all done with ranking alums, think again ...
We've discussed the classic prog metal scene quite a bit, so I thought it would be interesting to see how y'all feel about the modern day prog metal. This isn't your old-man's prog, so no Queensryche, Dream Theater or Fates Warning sounding stuff here.
I've divided it into two parts here that I feel are distinct enough;
1) next-gen prog and djent
2) progressive core (post-hardcore, mathcore, metalcore)
You might disagree with where I've put these bands, and that's just fine. After all, this is just an exercise in naming some of YOUR favorites, and hopefully inspiring others to try them out.
