An especially awesome release that was mentioned in the "New stuff Friday" thread (thanks "AllMediaReviews"!)... I'm becoming obsessed with this band/album, so I feel it deserves its own thread.
The mini-review I posted on "the other" board:
- A Formal Horse / Meat Mallet (2021)
Progarchives describes them as "Heavy Prog" and I won't argue with that. Fear not though, this is very catchy stuff. Songs are short, full of ideas and very creative arrangements. Many tracks show an evident punk undercurrent, the level of energy made me think of Stolen Babies more than once. Excellent female vocals, and a prominent fat bass guitar that always puts a smile on my face. One of my best recent discoveries!

Re: A Formal Horse / Meat Mallet
hey, thanks for mentioning it . Glad you're enjoying them and the new album so much!
Yeah they are 1 of my favorite new bands, and the new album i have enjoyed a lot this year, and likely will be in my top 10 records of the year.
