Scardust -- Strangers

This is a really good female fronted proggish act out of Isreal. I really like this one so far, everything I've heard so far has been fantastic.

This album is one I should "love", but I'm only "liking" it so far.

It's quite proggy, well produced, great musicians, the inclusion of a hurdy gurdy on one of the songs is quite awesome, and that singer is wonderful. However, it really is overly dramatic and cinematic (which we all know easily becomes cheesy - both the latest Seventh Wonder and the latest Ayreon are victims of this - and actually Scardust sounds like a mixture of those two bands to great extent ...) and it oftentimes ruin the flow of the song.

I'll spend some more time with the album, but I'm having a hard time with it right now, which surprises me quite a bit.

I had the same reaction. All of the individual elements are there, but the admixture just doesn't work for me.

I'll keep at it - I can hear the potential for sure, it just hasn't clicked (yet?).

Hah!

Actually, I love the new Xmas single from Majestica, so it doesn’t always have to be dark/sad/melancholic to get my attention LOL

This is a very interesting band - from what I saw on the You tube clips, they are very interesting !!!!! Incredible prog chops with a female singer who is all over the map and into weird / quirky country as well. And she growls !!!!!!

I'm very intrigued from what I'm seeing and hearing - need to hear more of this.
