Citadellion - Introspection

Post by venidominefan » Fri Aug 14, 2020 11:59 pm

A friend sent me a link to this band from Sweden a while back and I'm enjoying their EP from 2019. The only downside to the whole EP is that it's only an EP and I want to hear more. Hopefully a full album will be in the cards at some point.

Not sure who to compare the band to, but there's an old school vibe to it that kind of reminds me of the band Leviticus, maybe due to the vocalist. The choruses are a big highlight and somewhat remind of the way Seventh Wonder layers their choruses.

Nothing speedy here. All mid-tempo stuff and all of the 5 tracks go together really well. Maybe a bit samey at times but if you like their style you will just want to hear more.

Nothing flashy about the band just solid mid-tempo songs with piano, acoustic guitar, crunchy guitars and good melodies.

There are only 5 tracks but here are some of my favorites, though they are all good to me.

They also have a bandcamp page for those who might like to give the whole EP a whirl:

Not bad at all - looks like it's a couple of guys from Saffire and Gathering of Kings here, which makes sense as it has a smooth AOR sense to it, while still being somewhat "symphonic power metal" based. A bit light in the loafers, but not bad.
