Any recs for mid-period Iron Maiden clones?
Like many I definitely prefer the Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son discs, and to a lesser extent Piece of Mind.
The only band off the top of my head is Machine Men that I think does IM style well, but I have to admit I haven't looked much. I know Voice does a reasonable impression (with added keyboards!). Do we have any others?

So -that's- where the humidifier went.

Mob Rules jumps to mind first, I guess.... Maybe closer to latter era Maiden, but still...... Personally, I'd take Mob Rules over Machine Men or Voice any day of the week.

I personnally really enjoy all 3 bands! Voice is the less Maiden-ish of the 3 IMO.Sir Exar Kun wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 11:43 amMob Rules jumps to mind first, I guess.... Maybe closer to latter era Maiden, but still...... Personally, I'd take Mob Rules over Machine Men or Voice any day of the week.

Definitely Slough Feg, specifically Down Among the Deadmen, Traveller, and Atavism.

Right. I am pretty familair with Mob Rules and Narita. I have been aware of Slough Feg for years but never gave them any thought. I will remedy that.
Also will give Attick Demons and Jackal a spin.
While we are here, any more recommendations for NWOBHM sound?

Hell is a good story. UK band got record deal in the 80s, label went bust, guitarist committed suicide, band broke up. Then reformed a few years ago and released an excellent album, Human Remains. Their next album isn't as good.

Vocally, yes. Musically, they sound closer to the Piece of Mind/Powerslave period to my ears.
