Vocal coach reacts to Tate / Take Hold of the Flame...

Post by LarryD » Sun Mar 24, 2019 8:15 am

This is awesome - as well as a trip thru the past .........

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIHHrqzXAfs

Yeah yeah -- no one wants to hear about this stuff anymore, but it was so cool to see a vocal coach appreciating what Tate used to do ...... her facial expressions are priceless as well as heart warming ...... she also talks about how great a singer Tate is ( they are showing the live version of Take Hold circa 1985 ) and explains how he does what he does with his voice .....

So cool to see how he used to be - and how great Queensryche was back in the day ...... That particular show, Live in Tokyo 1985, I paid $85 for the imported Japanese version (VHS) of it because we couldn't get it here in the States at the time ...... I still have it.

I still have it too! But I don't have a VHS player anymore! Now that the band is no longer with Tate, I guess all hope to see an official DVD of it is gone...

Gaetan - I transferred my VHS copy to DVD many years ago - I have a DVD copy machine ........ but you can find DVD-R copies of this online at various places...... it won't be the original DVD, but at least if something happened to your tape, you would have it as a backup, and you could play it anytime you want........

I'll tune in when it's "Fashion expert reacts to Geoff Tate's hat and vest".

Yea, she's one of the few reaction channels that I can stand. I've watch her review Floor before and Simone. She really gets into explaining all of the vocal nuances....Plus, goddamn she's Hot! lol

Larry, you've found a thing I love (almost as much as rum!) I watched this last week a few times and Tate is at his pinnacle! Everyone should love that performance. I watch a lot of reaction vids; King KTF is my current fav and it's from a pure fan, new to metal perspective.

That was a lot of fun & makes me want to watch some more live QR from the 80s/early 90s. Though too young to have been a fan in the 80s, I was fortunate enough to see them when Geoff still had *most* (not all) of his range - 2000, Madison Square Garden, with Iron Maiden and Halford. He sang "Queen of the Reich"!
