Stone Leaders

Post by Psychotic Symphony » Fri Mar 22, 2019 2:53 pm

Stone Leaders is my new favourite prog metal disc of the year. These guys miss the mid-late 90s and so do I.

They remind me a lot of Ark, although not as heavy at times, but with a singer who at times sounds like Jorn Lande, and solos ripped straight from the Petrucci bible.

It's very song oriented and immediately accessible. As all you oldies are stuck in the old ways while young upstarts worship at the altar or Meshuggah, this stuff is a breath of fresh air!

So -that's- where the humidifier went.

I was telling Glenn earlier today that someone needed to put this singer in a band with someone who could write good songs because I feel he is lost in Animal Drive (sounds like second rate Skid Row to me). Now this is awesome!!!

No wonder ... it’s Macaluso on drums and he definitely has a very unique style. Great find!!!

Whoa, this is verk Ark-ish. I'm definitely in to buy a disc full of this.

I bought it on iTunes yesterday and made it through it 3 times by now - it’s actually quite diverse ... there’s definitely a good deal of “Ark’isms” to it, some Dream theater, some SymX but also a few other things in there I really like. The singer is amazing, Macaluso is as busy and fun to listen to as ever and the rest of the band has got some chops for sure.

Hell yeah, that's a very nice endorsement.
