The Paradox Twin- The Importance of Mr. Bedlam

Postby Harvester » Tue Aug 21, 2018 8:41 pm

I read an article/review of The Paradox Twin- The Importance of Mr. Bedlam in last month's Prog Magazine.

*Wow*

This is some fantastic heavy prog rock, It has that old school UK prog flavor with modern elements of Porcupine Tree & Threshold added. The vocals are excellent.

Hearing the PT and also got a Rush vibe at times with those open chords. Singer is very good indeed. There was a third track on the YouTube channel. Had some female vocals. Pretty laid back and melodic.

We heard this in it's entirety at Prog Power - and it is indeed a WOW disc !!!!! It just got better and better as the disc went on, and I asked to keep it playing right to the end.....several times along the way I asked if this was still the same disc due to the length, the vibe change, and how good it got. I was stunned........

Consider this a contender for Top 10 as Glenn predicted for me ...... first order of business, order disc. Check. I'll write more about this when I have all of the music in my grasp.......

Agreed, this is an outstanding disk. From Glenn's description it sounded like something I would like and I'm glad I checked it out. This is just the kind of thing I've been enjoying lately.

Don't know how much I'd listen to it, but it does have a nice vibe going on and seems pretty accomplished for a debut.

EDIT: John Mitchell produced it and does a guest spot. Cool.

*** That explains why it sounds so good ....... this has a monster production. It's going to be too light for the metal heads around here, but for those who love their Neo-Prog, and melodic Prog Rock, this is right up your alley......... I love it when a band just comes out of nowhere, writes a concept disc, has a super production and it blows me away....... awesome.......
