Souldrinker - War Is Coming

Postby Guillaume » Thu Dec 14, 2017 1:07 pm

Anyone checked out this Souldrinker album? It's a top 15 for me. Excellent melodic power with ballsy female vocals. In fact, I thought at first it was a guy, before I saw the video... The band features an ex-guitarist from Mystic Prophecy and the vocals of Iris Boanta make me think of R.D. Liapakis from MP too. Guitars are crunchy as hell.

Speaking of Iris, she sang on the 2012 album Apocalypse 666 with the band The Mystery. She sounded maybe a bit more feminine back then. Good melodic power stuff as well IMO.

Let me know what you guys think.

Yeah, I got this a while back and I like it quite a bit.

There are times that the guitarist reminds me of Zakk Wylde. In particular his vibrato in his solos.

Didn't notice that, but I'm not that big a fan of Zakk... At least, the Souldrinker dude doesn't overdo the pinch harmonics...
