Animal Drive - an Ark Burn the Sun vibe going on

Postby venidominefan » Sun Dec 10, 2017 10:52 pm

...at least in the chorus 8)

Their bio says they have some progressive rock leanings...hmmm...not too sure, but only this one track from the new album is available thus far.

Kick ass Jorn/Coverdale sounding vocalist. Really young band from Croatia on Frontiers label...release date in February.

This new song by Animal Drive is indeed killer. Can't wait for the whole disc.

This young singer, Dino Jelusic, is great, and in the same league as Jorn, Diego Valdez, Ronnie Romero and the likes IMO.

Check out his cover of Sabbath's Die Young

and the one from Serpent's Kiss (Symphony X)

The Show Must Go On at a Belarus TV show (and he was supposedly quite sick at the time)

Definitely, a name to remember. A new vocal star has been found.

Love it! Great find!!!

Jorn Lande soundalike for SURE!!!! It's got more of a straightforward rock approach than Ark did, but I can certainly hear a similarity in the chorus.....

That's almost my exact impression. His Ark-era Jorn vocals are a crazy close match in a bunch of places (super strong in the chorus). Definitely gonna check out more of these dudes.

That guy is bad ass ....... No offense to Jorn - but as he ages and puts out less than quality releases, someone other than Ronnie Romero has to step up and produce.....this guy is the deal !!!!!! Awesome .........

Yup, Dino Jelusic rules. But I have to defend Jorn. He still releases quality stuff IMO (his last album is quite good, in my top 20) and the Dracula disc too. Also, his work with Avantasia is excellent. His vocals are still top notch.

But nice to see young guys like Dino, with such a powerful voice appear on the scene.

Cool Voice. Dude has the Coverdale side of Jorn down big time! Dead ringer.
Jorn is more versatile though.

I do hear a bit of Ark in the chorus too. More straightforward stuff than Ark. I would like to hear more.

Not trying to hijack the thread here. I seem to recall talk of the band "The Ralph" on this forum at one time. Could be mistaken. "Enter Escape" by The Ralph was one of my favorite albums last year. This guy is singing on that album. It might not appeal to some as it has more of a modern vibe going on, but you can't fault his vocals. They are diverse and on the money on Enter Escape. He has a smoother delivery on the first clip and a more aggressive delivery on the second clip below.

Misinformation on my prior entry about the 2 tracks I posted for the band The Ralph. The 2nd clip is actually guest vocals from the singer Dino replaced I think. However, it still stands that Dino uses a mix of vocals on the rest of the album and exercises a lot of range.

I'm glad to see others here digging The Ralph. Enter Escape is a monster of an album that should get more traction than it's gotten.

Prog heads rejoice! In a comment below one of the videos on YouTube, singer Dino wrote this:

Excellent!

This is just plain good rocking stuff. I'll also buy it to just enhance the chances we get the full prog second disc, lol.
