*it's not really a mansion
**I don't actually know that many of you subscribe...it's more in hope!!

Hey Matt ---

Thanks for posting !!!!! My thoughts to yours ........

***This is completely bad ass !!!! Andy Engberg HAS to be the most underrated singer in metal history....... here, he manages to take a simple yet effective melodic doom disc, and take it to a completely different level. I thought his best performance ever would have been on the legendary Twilight disc, or the last Speaking to Stones, which is killer prog metal. But here, he might have surpassed those performances. Utterly mesmerising - I could not take my ears off of this one ......as for the music, I've gotten away from Doom ever since Veni Domine exited the game, but this disc is more like Sabbath / Headless Cross-lite style and every song is melodic bliss...... Thanks to Guillaume for turning me onto this one ......

***Not much more to be said about this excellent prog metal band that hasn't been said. The disc slays - their show at Prog Power slayed, and it's Top 5 for me.

***I don't care for the band that this band spawns from - and the only song I heard I didn't care for either....... but it is being suggested that I listen to rest of it before passing final judgement .......

***Didn't care for the song I heard -- and from what I'm being told and reading, I won't care for the rest of it either ........

***I'm having trouble marrying Anneke's trademark sultry vocals to this style of music ...... call me stubborn, but I know what I like .........I'm glad she is branching out, but can I please have The Gentle Storm Part II - The Journey Home if anyone has written it yet ?

***Ordered from The Lasers Edge without having heard a note ........

Great list Matt -- keep em coming !!!!

Thanks Larry - it seems that the Sorcerer disc is surprising a lot of people, myself included...and for those that were already fully aware of the talents of this band, they have been rewarded with more killer material. I can't get over how great this thing is.

You're also not the only one who rates Daydream XI highly - many others do, it seems. For me, it is great but I want more immediate melodies here and there. When they deliver, they really deliver. But it's not quite often enough for this to feature in my year-end top 10.
