Morning ride in was the new Redemption (see comments in that thread)

At work, first up was part of Megadeth's "Warchest" collection, and now moved into Wuthering Heights "Within". Another band I really wish were still around..... Folk metal done RIGHT!

Re: Redemption - I Am the Storm (March 17, 2023)

I do wish this album had gotten its second part as Nick describes below. A lot of it feels a bit incomplete on first listen, and it's not nearly as immediate as other albums. I quite like it, but would not rank it at the top of the Redemption echelon. I wouldn't go so far as to say "incomplete", bu...

OK, in all the posts above we're missing a link to the single best song on the album!!!! Through 85% of the disc I was thinking.... Sure, yes, it's Kamelot. No surprises, but still loving it. EXACTLY what I expected. Then THIS track came along.... How I wish there was more like this on here! Still d...

It was only this January. I'm suspecting they might bring on one of the keyboardists they've worked with, possibly even Markus Teske from the All My Shadows album. Vanden Plas will continue. https://www.facebook.com/VandenPlasOffi ... tQ37prPGMl Don't know how I missed that as I follow them on FB a...

Iced Earth - Burnt Offerings / Dark Saga Yes, Jon S is a major idiot for what he did, no doubt about that! As far as newer albums, I enjoy all of their reunion albums with Skolnick back … Formation of Damnation, Dark Roots of Earth, Brotherhood of the Snake, and Titans of Creation. NP - Testament "The Ritual" This was the first album that got me into Testament, and it was really because of the guitar chops more than anything else. Thrash, but with STYLE. Stride - Imagine REALLY strong (basically) one-and-done band from early 2000s, right around the time of Circus Maximus debuting as, if I recall, both played the same ProgPower. 2 Bonus tracks available on vinyl not available on a CD edition. I'm not happy at all.
And it looks like both are original, non-album tracks, while the actual CD has two cover tunes. I love a good cover as much as anyone, but would rather have the two originals......

Kamelot … going through their discography since there’s a new album on the horizon. Also, “poetry for the Poisoned” is totally underrated in their catalogue, and the f...

Iron Maiden - Brave New World

This was really the first album that got me into the band. I was familiar with the "hits" prior to this, but never really listened to them until seeing them live in concert on this tour. Didn't see them live again until last year on the Senjitsu tour.

Going a ways back today...... The first Virgin Steele album circa 1982. More of a hair metal direction than the symphonic power sound they gravitated towards later.... Still fun though.

I've got about half a dozen discs yet to spin..... Notably Devin Towsend and Threshold. Pretty sure I have my top 3-5 nailed down, but wouldn't be shocked if either / both of those shake things up a bit.

Hopefully get something together by early January.
