Re: Icon - original members recording new music

In the interview they state the new material is sounding like the first album which is what they intend. I'll believe it when I hear it but it's still fun to hope and speculate. Interesting that they say the full line up is back from the debut and Night Of The Crime. As a side note, Stephen Clifford...

I too thought the vocalist was the weak link, at first, but he's growing on me...the conviction and maturity of his delivery really shines through. The music is great. Looking forward to a full release. Very nice production too.

Including vocalist Stephen Clifford:

Re: Psychotic Waltz...I get it now

Something I've been pondering about for the last 20 years; why did Buddy Lackey change his name to Devon Graves? At first I thought it was a way for him to distance himself from PW when he was starting up Dead Soul Tribe, but now seeing that he has stuck with Devon Graves as the name to go by even ...

That’s good to know the download sounds better...I too was worried after listening on YouTube. Imagine what it would sound like to have someone like Jacob Hansen, Peth/Miro or a Neil Kernon producing and mixing an album with Andreas...now that would be awesome. I do enjoy the production on the 2 Bin...

Geoff regaining his vocal abilities?

Have to give Geoff credit for giving the classic Queensryche a go. Not perfect but this is not easy singing. Never thought I’d hear him getting anywhere close to his glory days. Videos from even early this year he couldn’t get near these notes.

I followed along on Facebook and his blog since he announced the diagnosis. He was gracious and brave to share his struggles and always seemed to remain positive.

An amazingly talented yet humble man. What a huge loss for fans but especially for his wife. Cancer sucks.

Listened to this once a few weeks ago and it seemed subdued compared to “Inure” which is the only other album I have from them. “Season V”...sounds like a different band.

Re: Port Noir - The New Routine

I like it but don’t hear the Port Noir sound though. It reminds me of a more hard rock (less goth pop) version of The Rasmus. Interesting that Tony Harnell produced the album. I forgot about the Tony Harnell connection...if I remember correctly Tony also did backing vocals on that first Pound disc....

Re: Sweet Oblivion: Mularoni and his problems with Tate

By talking now, when there is still some attention on the project, he can blunt any momentum to make a second record, unless it's his choice to do it. He could be getting out in front of it, whereas people would say the same comments are an excuse to cover for Tate not wanting to do another one if ...

I must have listened to this album a hundred times by now - there's absolutely nothing that comes remotely close to this as far as album of the year for me. Re: Sweet Oblivion: Mularoni and his problems with Tate

Hummm... This album with Tate is not the first one Simone did for Frontiers. He wrote the Lione/Conti album from 2018 and the last Sunstorm - Road To Hell as well (Joe Lynn Turner's project) if I'm not mistaken. And noone knows he participated, or very few. Why would he suddenly be pissed off by Ta...

Chronos Zero - Hollowlands - 2016

Came across this recently. Searched the board and didn't find any posts about it, so not sure if I just lucked upon it on YouTube or someone had mentioned it. Heavy and chunky guitars, atmospheric keys and thunderous drumming. 3 singers: one angry Russell-Allen-type voice, one female smooth sweet vo...

Re: The latest Progressive/Tech Death Metal releases ...

EQUIPOISE - Demiurgus This album is amazing and I'm hard pressed at imagining any prog/tech death album better than this in 2019. It is so over-the-top technical, so over-the-top fast/speedy/brutal/yet-melodic that it's borderlining to the point of ridiculousness ... often times I'm laughing at how...

Hmmm I thought he sounded absolutely horrible on A Million Gods ... such a shame :( But yeah, the first song (from new album) he sounded great on. Probably that’s just where he is comfortable these days singing in lower register and with less power. I was surprised about the down tuning and I agree...
