Re: Let's get some discs ready for 2019 lists......
This has been a really slow year for me. For some reason, there hasn't been much that have been obvious candidates for top 10. However, I love starting to see other's lists as it reminds me of releases I need to go back to. I often discover that I have missed lots of great releases once I start goin...
Re: Sanctuary
They were great. I really couldn't see how the band could continue without Warrel since his voice was so unique and such a big part of the band. I was very impressed with how good the new guy sounded. Really enjoyed seeing them.

Re: Arena - Re-Visited: Live! Box Set (Blu-ray/DVD/2 CD)
Larry,
Does your player list all the formats it supports? If so, can you tell me if it also supports 1080i/25fps? Since 25 is half of 50 it seems likely, but the main reason I would be buying it is to play my Anglagard Live In Norway Blu-Ray and it's 1080i/25fps so I want to make sure.
Thanks.

Re: It has slowed down - halfway thru the year.....
This has been the slowest first half of the hear for me that I can remember. Not sure how much of that is just me vs. the releases. There have only been a few that have really got my attention so far. 1) Arch Matheos - Winter Ethereal 2) Jordsjø - Nattfiolen 3) Darkwater - Human I have a bunch of ot...

Re: Port Noir - The New Routine
I must have listened to this album a hundred times by now - there's absolutely nothing that comes remotely close to this as far as album of the year for me. It's just far and above anything else I've heard all year. I know this won't be music that sits well with most around here. It's not "prog met...

Re: Psychotic Waltz...I get it now
Back in the day I really didn't get into PW either. I think I had one disc, but it didn't click enough at the time to get the others. Now that they are playing PP, I've been digging into their catalog and I'm loving it now. Can't wait to actually see them live!

Re: The board has NEW color schemes !!!!!!!
If it's not clear, you can change the board style by going to User Control Panel -> Board preferences -> My board style. I believe one of the variations of Black is what the board used to have.

Re: The board has NEW color schemes !!!!!!!
You're welcome Larry. I'm such a nerd I enjoy stuff like this. Now that I have the board updated to 3.2.7 and know how to install styles, it should be easy to add others. Note that ProSilver is the built in default style, so if you ever have any troubles try switching back to ProSilver which hopeful...

I don't know if it's a real CD or a CDR of some sort, but you can get a CD from Bandcamp for 12 Euros.

Re: M.I.GOD- Specters on Parade
I've gotten to the point where I hate interludes so bad I'm going to have a hard time listening to this much even if the rest is good. I just don't understand why bands don't understand how lame these things are. Sure they might seem clever the first few times, but then they are so annoying every ot...

Re: New Arch/Matheos..
My pre-order from Bandcamp dropped on Friday. I just finished my second listen and this is outstanding. Very similar in style to the first one which I consider a masterpiece. I think the new one is going to end up being just as good as the previous one. This will definitely be at the top of my year ...

Re: The latest Progressive/Tech Death Metal releases ...
I listened once through Hath and Equipoise. The Hath was OK, but the Equipoise was insanely great. I can definitely hear Spiral Architect in the music. The vocals are pushing the limit of what I can tolerate, but the music is very special. I'll be buying the Equipoise soon and will keep listening to...

Thanks Claus. I've been getting into this genre lately. I have the Allegaeon, but just got it so haven't spun it enough. I found the other 2 on Bandcamp and added them to my wishlist. I'm listening to them now.

Re: Need some help to understand the meaning of some lyrics in the song "Into The Great Nothing" by Wolverine
"Currency" is often used to refer to money or something else of value. So perhaps it's saying that the currency has changed. For instance, at some point in your life what you value might be measured by the currency of money. Other times it might be measured by the currency of happiness, freedom, ach...

I'm not the neo-prog expert that Larry is, but how about Evership? Prog Archives does classify them as neo-prog, so hopefully they fit.

Re: Queensryche new album & tour with Fates Warning
It's a shame they are skipping Colorado again on this tour. Fates skipped us on previous legs as well. Would love to see Fates again and Toddsrych would be nice too. Not the biggest Queensrych fan, but would be cool to see Todd sing those classics. I suppose I could drive to Albuquerque, NM but that...
