End of year lists - are we ready ?
Aside from Claus getting ready to upload his massive end of year list, I was wondering if anyone else had their lists ready ? Usually at this time there are a few up already, looking forward to seeing what everyone thought was excellent this past year .......

To me - If you want him at his absolute best, start with the early Royal Hunt material - The disc PARADOX is his best to me, if you like that keyboard driven Neo-Classical sound The live disc called 1996 has all of the early material on it pre-Paradox. If you like Judas Priest style music, track dow...

Sad news indeed ....... one of my go to obscure bands in the 80s ....... I loved them back in the day. One of the bands I never got to see live for some reason......

Great prog metal disc - but - I do have a little issue with the singer being overwhelmed by the music ......meaning the music is more powerful. However, it's hard not to want to get it based on Eric Gilette's performance alone .......

I agree with everything you have all said ....... it's very laid back, and no Touchstones ...... but it is very good. Melodic, atmospheric, dramatic ......but it is very light.....even for me. I don't mind light at all, but when it comes to certain bands, like Subsignal, a bit of aggression goes a l...

On paper, that is an incredible show ...... to play those albums back to back like that is just amazing to even attempt at this stage of the game ...... personally, I don't think Todd can pull that off anymore ..... some of the clips of recent shows I've watched has him struggling just to hit the no...

Veni Domine's Facebook page just became active again and announced a festival appearance in March 2024. I'm not sure if this is permanent or just a one-off reunion, but they seem to be hinting that it might be more than this one show. This is not a band I particularly listen to often as their style...

I HOPE that it brings more "life" back to DT live shows..... My house is 100% fantasy nerdery, and I don't listen to much power metal anymore. To me it's because the music is cliched and boring. Virtually all power metal is stamped from one mold, and I just don't have much love for things coming from that mold anymore. The lyrics being silly as hell isn't ev...

I'm on the fence with all of these comments ..... I like it, but I don't. Been listening to the 2023 remaster of ELEGY’s “State of Mind”. Sounds is killer! It wasn’t bad to begin with but it sounds very strong now and music doesn’t sound 25 years old at all.
