Great disc indeed. There is not THAT much of a difference between the albums in my top 10. Love them all.

Be the Wolf - Torino Already now I can guarantee that this is going to end up very high on my year-end list .. might even be AotY contender. I love everything this band has put out so far and this is no different. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Imagine Train or Maroon 5 getting f***ed over by a h...

Re: My top 50 of 2020
Glad to hear I turned you on to Badd Kharma. Great band. Another guy on Facebook had the same reaction as you and is now a fan. About Black Stone Cherry, check their earlier stuff too. Some excellent southern-tinged hard rocking stuff. 2008's Folklore & Superstition is probably the heaviest and best...

Re: Christiano Fillipini's Flames of Heaven
After spending more time with this I can say this would have made my top five of 2020 if I hadn't already committed lol. The previous description is still fairly accurate but I'd also add that if Vince DiCola were to ever write a symphonic metal album this would be it. The 80s inspired keyboard sou...

My top 50 of 2020
I’m blessed to have a job where I can play my music all-day long if I want. So, I listen to LOTS of new music in a year (310 new albums in 2020, about the same than the last 5 years). I can’t stand extreme/death vocals, so you won’t find anything related in this listing. I’m probably an easy bitch t...

Indeed a very good album. Mix of symphonic/power metal with AOR mixed in for good measure. Catchy stuff for sure. Nice find.

The first album is a bit weak, beside that I like all the albums including the last one with the new singer. I actually think their last one is their best. This is my review from last year: Talk about surprise of the year! I have always regarded Knight Area as a solid keyboard based symphonic prog-...

Re: First top ten in years
Great list !!!!!!! 3. Hittman/Destory All Humans – Surprise of the year for me. I vaguely remember these guys from late 80s and I think I had a cassette. This is a spectacular return to form for most and a debut to me. They managed to capture a QR vibe without being dated. I’m likely way off but on...

I had no idea Everthrone was still active. I'll check that out. Claus, I think you and I have the same aversion to Pyramaze. The vocals are so over-produced and way too many chorus effects are used. Could be a Jacob Hanson decision or he's just not good and this covers that up. There is exactly zer...

SINNER'S BLOOD (new rising star vocalist )
Anyone checked out SINNER'S BLOOD-Mirror Star? Some crunchy melodic metal from Chile, with a punchy production and nice songs. Nothing we have not heard before, but really effective. However, this is very interesting cause the star of the show is vocalist James Robledo, who reminds me of Russell All...

Re: Hittman - Destroy All Humans
I think it's a killer comeback. I really enjoyed their first album, not so much the follow-up. New one is heavy, melodic and a tad progressive. I hear some Queensryche, some Savatage in the songs. Singer sounds even better now than in the 80s for me. Not as high, still really powerful. The 2 vids so...

I realize that rarely do I post something here that anyone but me likes, but I'm sharing this one anyway. Huge thanks to Stevie for the rec on them. Agree with your assessments .......Trapped in Anguish was excellent !!!!! The others did not hit me as hard either.......but that was one was special. Very odd to see you like this, as it's way more of a power/melodic metal album than a prog album. I just listened to it again, and it didn't do anyt...

DeadRisen -- S/T Fun thrashy metal. Not sure if this has lasting power, but it's good for me. Nice to see someone mentioning this. One of my faves too. Tried to push it a bit around here without success. Don't understand the lack of hype about it. It has all the ingredients. Really good album that ...

They are actually from New Zealand. They released No Sacrifice in 2011 and Under A Dying Sun in 2013. Both albums are pretty killer IMO and it's a shame the band remained quite unknown in the metal field. I never ever thought of Disturbed while playing them though ;) Here are a few songs from the 1s...

Apollo did great with Majestic and then Time Tequiem. I seem to remember some Firewind albums? I was never huge on Gus G but I teally should try those again. Re: Pretty Maids after the album "Stripped" (1993)?
Anything Worth Doing, Carpe Diem, Planet Panic and Wake Up to the Real World all fall into this "meh" category, where there are some good songs on all albums, but neither of them are perfect. It was like the band kind of lost touch with their roots in the early part of 2000's. Luckily Pandemonium f...
