Re: Great older cds new to you in 2020?,,,

Television - Marquee Moon

took me over 30 years to check it out, but I do follow why so many consider it a classic. The title track alone is worth the price of admission.

Re: Fates Warning -Long Day Good Night is fantastic

long time fan..

I like this more than Darkness, but if this is their last record, it kind of makes me wonder if time will be more kind to it.

It's uneven at best..some nice moments, but it doesn't have that energy or memorability like Theories did, Disconnected, FWX, APSOG and many of their others.

Re: The Forgotten Heroes of Prog Metal Thread

Visionary - Visionay. Lots of Queensryche influence and they throw in some heavy double bass drumming at times. Although I think they use a drum machine for this album :D Good shout! They released another album Strange But Familiar Shores which is quite good as well. Some weird cross between Concep...

For Madmen Only was the only one I ever got fully into.

The Sam Taylor element is all over that record.

Atomic Opera were good, although I never loved them like I did King's X and Galactic Cowboys.

Re: New POS tune...

Scarsick was considered TPE Part 2 I guess, although I'm pretty sure it's not what Daniel originally had envisioned per it was to come out after TPE 1 and have some specific orchestra they never got to work with, per would have had to wait a few years to use, which delayed it and had him focus on Re...

Re: The Forgotten Heroes of Prog Metal Thread

just quoting from a few pages back. Sorry, but I always found Superior's greatest record to be Younique. I love the various influences they brought in. Behind is still great, and even though I found the concept a bit melodramatic, I still enjoy a lot of Ultima Ratio. I wrote something in my blog abo...

epic list as usual. I didn't realize Born of Osiris made a new album, although I can't say I've been all that interested in their music in many years. I think largely per my lack of interest in Metalcore, let alone Deathcore in recent years. Thanks for reading. That Born Of Osiris disc is great, ju...

it's very cool to see more people enjoy them.

I would suggest checking out MAJOR PARKINSON, the other band Sondre's in.

Re: Andre Matos is dead

this has been one of the hardest musician deaths for me to fathom. The guy was my favorite singer for many years, and a wonderful composer/arrangerand even though it's been a long time since he seemed active, it just seems hard to believe he is gone, and at the age of only 47. And I never got to see...

I always enjoy reading your list Glenn. Also their sound ...

I'm finally going to get to see them in Minnesota again.

May 5th, 2001 was their last show in my hometown.

Queensryche I guess is just an added bonus.
