Re: W.A.S.P.?
Honestly, based on my memory of Larry's dislike of Hansi's vocals it doesn't surprise me that he wouldn't like even good (THC and beyond) W.A.S.P. as I would consider Hansi the singer closest in sound to Blackie. ****Exactly right - although it goes a lot deeper than that ........ I never cared for...

Re: Nine Skies - 5.20
Glad to see your interest in this band Larry
This new release by Nine Skies is special. If you're looking for more of a classic neo-prog sound, then the debut "Return Home" is the one. "Return Home" is still my favorite album from them.

I used to pay an extra for some bonus, now I hesitate because it's an artbook
So far I passed two times on Evergrey. In fact, so far, I'm not buying the last Evergrey at all because of that... I will not buy a house for a bonus track... I may pass also on LTE3... I'm not sure, I hesitate... If the bonus Blu-ray was in a standard package, they probably would have received my o...

Re: The Forgotten Heroes of Neo-Prog Thread
Here’s another band from main land Europe (it cracks me up to think that the first bunch of bands discussed in this thread aren’t even British considering most of the neo-prog movement comes from there), EGDON HEATH . Four or five albums was all this Dutch band managed to release and all of them fa...

Re: MYSTERY / Caught in the Whirlwind of Time ..... bluray concert.
A single Blu-ray edition is also available. This is what I have. I think they have remade the Blu-ray disc for it to be compatible to all US Blu-ray players. Check before ordering if this is what you are looking for.

Re: Eric Clayton (Saviour Machine) is back .......
I do like the new solo album. The production is excellent and back where Saviour Machine II left. The songwriting is very good and even more. There is something for the Saviour Machine fans. But we have to expect something more laid back in general.

Mystica - Oratorio (2019)
Prog metal from Bulgaria. This is there second album (only 30 min long). https://mysticaband.bandcamp.com/album/oratorio I bought this last year. This is my last CDBaby order. CDBaby online store is no more. There is a new singer and a female singer has been added. Beside that, the style is similar ...

https://www.metal-archives.com/images/5/5/0/6/55061.jpg NOTHINGFAITH - SIGIRIYA 1996 Austrian band Nothingfaith only released one album, "Sigiríya", which, truth be told, is more of a long EP (only ~32 minutes), and as far as I can see searching the internet there really are no trace to be found of...

Re: W.A.S.P.?
there is too much good music out there to focus on the past. I totally disagree. At this point in time, I think good music is more behind us than ahead of us. I actually don't care when an album was released. If it's good music, it's good music. Just an example: In 2014, I discovered Judas Priest -...

If I'm not mistaken - the IQ bluray is 50hz as well, and my LG PAL bluray player codes it wonderfully ........... Yes it is and you are able to read it with your LG Blu-ray player because it does convert the 1080i 50hz to 1080i 60hz. You are also able to read it because the IQ Blu-ray is region fre...

Re: Last minute 2020 release: Concert by the neo-prog band Mystery on Blu-ray!
So...do you have to have a "region free" player to watch this is The Good Ole US of A? This Blu-ray disc is region free. This is not the issue. The video on the Blu-ray is 1080i 50hz. Your TV won't be able to read this signal in America. You need a Blu-ray player that will convert the 1080i 50hz si...

Re: Does anyone care about Metallica anymore ? New concert album...
S&M 2 concert on Blu-ray is a must have to me. Image, sound, performance, etc. and the best video editing I have ever seen for a concert. The video editing is smart. Nice and useful effects and they don't do it too much. In comparison, Black Sabbath - The Last Supper concert DVD gets my worst video ...

Re: What are the best Japanese bonus tracks?
The release of Circus Maximus - "The 1st Chapter" is a bit crazy. There is a different bonus track for US, Europe and Japan.
To me, the best bonus track of the three is the one from Japan:

Re: Great older cds new to you in 2020?,,,
I guess this is the perfect thread for me as I am digging more in the past these days exploring neo-prog, hard rock and hard rock/metal. There are some older CDs I bought in 2020 that are still waiting for me to listen to, but so far a top 10 would be: Power - Justice Of Fire (1995) (progressive pow...

Based on your post, I'm going to go back to Fantasma and Bridge....... I did and just added Everon to my website. I like "North", it is very good to me....
