LILIAC, an impressive young band
Liliac is a band of 3 brothers and 2 sisters, the Cristeas, who are between 10 and 18 years old. Their father is their manager and producer, the mother is involved as well. They are really good at their instruments already IMO and the bassist/singer has a particularly killer ballsy voice. From their...

Re: Anybody remember a band called Vengeance?
Arabia is an excellent song, and the album is quite good as a whole as well. Never ever thought of Crimson Glory though. My faves would be the 1st one, s/t from 1984, quite Saxon-like at times, and 1989's Arabia. But they released a good deal of good hard rocking stuff over their career. 1st album: ...

Re: LORD DIVINE - Facing Chaos
Glad I'm not the only one enjoying this: https://www.angrymetalguy.com/lord-divine-facing-chaos-review/ Some excerpts: That was wise, because at times these cats sound quite a bit like classic era Symphony X if they were a bit more streamlined and linear. This is a very talented groups of unknowns ...

Re: LORD DIVINE - Facing Chaos
as I feel like Diego always sounds like he is in the exam room at the proctologist instead of the recording studio. It’s pretty painful to my ears and it sounds like it’s quite painful for Diego as well. Man.... You'll never cease to amaze me... And even more when I read this comment from a guy who...

LORD DIVINE - Facing Chaos
4th album of this Argentinian prog/power band, but the first I'm aware of. If you miss Melodic-Russ Symphony X style, check this out. Not saying it's of the same caliber of early SymX, but it's really good IMO. Great musicianship, excellent production. Singer is a certain dude named Diego Valdez. Ma...

Re: Queensryche new album & tour with Fates Warning
Hope there will be a 2nd leg including Quebec City. Saw QR with Todd a couple years ago and they were awesome and would like to see FW live for the 1st time. Yes, I saw the Awaken the Guardian show at PP, but I'm talking of the recent version of the band. People who know me are aware I was never the...

Re: The Forgotten Heroes of Prog Metal Thread
SUPERIOR-Behind (1996) This a killer album that I still play today. Their best IMO. Prog, but not too much, crunchy, excellent vox. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jlz7TepebDc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5cir8E7dfI I wasn't too kind at the time on follow-up Younique (1998), but I'd need to pla...

3 killer albums I still play. 1st Lions Share was also pretty good IMO. Andy Engberg ruled back then and still rules today with the last Sorcerer who was killer and my #1 of 2017.Packgrog wrote:Here's some other forgotten gems, IMO:

Re: The Forgotten Heroes of Prog Metal Thread
My hometown boys from Chicago! Radakka More along the lines of melodic metal than prog, but certainly with the influences of Queensryche and the like. Killer guitar work from Michael Posch (currently writing and playing with Pamela Moore) and incredible vocals from Jon Dobbs. They released two albu...
