LEGACY PILOTS / Aviation .........

So I put together my non-metal list of discs that I had bought recently, and I kept this one aside as I wanted to give it a proper shout out ...... I'm pretty sure I mentioned this one in a past "haul" list, I didn't look it up but I probably made some passing comment on it that didn't bring any att...

Re: My completely non-metal post .......

For me it’s the quality of the music that counts, not the quality of production. Yes, of course a horrible production will drag down overall score, but I guess I’m not audiophile enough to recognize it nearly to the same level as you do. ****I agree and I'll take that as a compliment ......... :)

Re: New shit, old shit, good shit

Either way you slice and dice it, Andreas is most likely losing money on this album, but he does it because he is a true artist and there are multitudes of those out there in this scene we listen to that knowingly loses $$$ on each release but still does it for the love of the music. Respect. ***Ag...

Re: New shit, old shit, good shit

Unfortunately the production isn’t great in the new one either, and just like the last one it’s only Andreas and a drummer (and that’s a joke, because it’s not a drummer - just programmed stuff … Stalder Zantos is the name of the drummer and if you give those letters a good old’ scramble you’ll end...

Re: New shit, old shit, good shit

I hadn't been terribly impressed with new music this year overall. There are a few gems but mostly has been a down year for me, which means going to the collections and pulling stuff off the shelf that I hadn't spun in a while. I've had some great new discoveries this year that made up for my lack ...

Yes they did -- I forget the name of it, but from what I remember it wasn't finished as some of the guys didn't want to continue with it ......... they sent me one track off it and it sounded like it was right off Ultima Ratio, and had a good amount of Queensryche vibe to it ....... of course, being...

Funny you ask about their previous release ......I was just playing the new one and thinking about how different this one is from the previous one ... and I mean totally different. I'm in agreement with everything that everyone here said ......... I'm loving the disc and it seems like a return to an earlier form, and as said, there are no surprises or even any wow moments although the long end track does come close. Re: Dream Theater - A View from the Top of the World

On first listen, this is a quite good but not extraordinarily album. It lacks in the ability to really surprise and wow the listener compared to their other more recent works. The songs are perfectly solid yet don't seem to fully come together as well-rounded pieces. The Alien, Transcending Time, a...

Re: Dream Theater - A View from the Top of the World

I don't expect anything from them. I'm not asking them to break all the rules and do something no one has ever heard before. They're going to sound like them, and that's fine. In general, that's actually what we want. It's just not, for me, as exciting to listen to an album when I could correctly p...
