Glynn Morgan returns to THRESHOLD!

From their FB-page: THRESHOLD ANNOUNCE NEW VOCALIST THRESHOLD have parted ways with vocalist Damian Wilson. The band have chosen to start a new chapter without him and he has told them he respects their decision. Wilson enjoyed three stints with THRESHOLD, performing on the band's most recent record...

Fates Warning to release Awaken the Guardian DVD

From FW's Facebook: Legendary progressive metal act Fates Warning celebrated the 30th anniversary of their third album, Awaken the Guardian, in 2016. To celebrate this milestone, Jim Matheos (guitar) reassembled the Awaken the Guardian-era lineup for two special festival appearances last year: Keep ...

Re: LABYRINTH - Architecture Of A God

I clicked the link and though who might be the singer since Rob Tyrant (Roberto Tiranti) left a few years ago. But Rob's there (again!), although his voice sounds a bit strained (or does it?) John Macaluso is great drummer, interesting to see him handle the drum duties for Labÿrinth :)

Re: This Winter Machine - New Neo-Prog Outfit?

Thanks for this. I'm a BIG neo-prog fan, especially Fish-era Marillion and Arena, so this sounds immediately good for me. I'll digest this one and come back to comment some more!

Sonus Corona - New Finnish progband

New Finnish progband "Sonus Corona" and a new song "The Refuge". Can't say I love this but it's well done and well executed. Any other opinions?

Re: New Ayreon video

The Human Equation was the last Ayreon album that I bought and listened but this grabbed my interest! Love the bluesy part starting from 8:30. Really has the feeling of Into the Electric Castle (Best Ayreon album to date!).

Re: New Pain of Salvation track!

Hmm... "Meaningless" seems to be a reworked version of "Rocker's Don't Bathe" by Sign (Ragnar Zolberg's band). AFAIK the original song was never officially published in physical form but it's almost the same, note for note. You can check the "original" song on Spotify: ...

If I would need to define "perfection" I would post this:

John Mitchell's solo in the end is out of this world. One of the best solos I've ever heard.

Re: Arena: Wow!

By coincidence I just bought "Songs from the Lion's Cage" which for some reason I didn't have. It's quite good. Not par with The Visitor and Contagion but good anyway. I do enjoy it more than their second, Pride.

Re: Conception

A BIG Conception fan here! A shame that they got dumped by record company and quit shortly after that. Khan was good at Kamelot but Conception-style suited him much better. One band that really reminds me of Conception is Greek "Innosense". They have put out one album "Outcast". ...

Re: Pain of Salvation to re-master Remedy Lane

I'm done with that band because they've (he's) been churning out pure crap since the Linoleum days. Suddenly, he wants to get back to what brought them to attention in the first place? Here's an idea, stop putting out crappy blues discs and start writing good discs once again. Is that asking for to...

Re: First neo-prog album?

Basically you could say that "Fact and Fiction" was the first although lot of bands formed already at the end of 1970's (Marillion, Twelfth Night, Pendragon). IQ was formed a bit later (1981) after Martin Orford's former band, The Lens, dissoluted. I consider myself a big fan of Neo-Progre...

Saw them live yesterday. Played their new album in it's entirety. Most surprising was that they play very tightly as a band. The singer was able to produce his vocals more or less 1:1 with the album. Two live clips to show what I'm talking about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6G0Lojdei4 https://w...

Todd's great and the song is ok. I still hope that they would play live more new material than old stuff, although Todd's able to sing the old stuff as it is supposed to be sung.

They still lack the catchiness of classic era Rÿche.
