Re: My Top 30 of 2017

What was that? I'm only aware of the Mindfeed albums with Glynn singing, which were good indeed. http://www.leagueoflights.com/music.htm Really? I think he's the only one on target in that new Rainbow project. Blackmore is lifeless, his tone is flat and not heavy, the bassist and drummer look out o...

Returning singer Glynn Morgan’s killer performance proves it’s such a waste he didn’t sing on more albums in his career. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9NCuOe4zJk The side project him ...

Prog heads rejoice! In a comment below one of the videos on YouTube, singer Dino wrote this:
"On next album we plan to go proggy all the way, we didnt have keyboards in the band on this album."

My Top 30 of 2017

I play and enjoy lots of new music every year. 2017 was no different. Here we go... #1) Sorcerer - The Crowning Of The Fire King Legendary powerhouse Andy Engberg (ex-Lions Share, ex-Section A, ex-220 Volt) owns this album with one of his best performances. Great doom metal that is not so doomy and ...

Nice list! I should do mine too... I'd say we share many. But, to write that Tom Englund is a mediocre vocalist is quite weird... And not true.. Also, that Evergrey did only a couple good songs and repeated them all over their career? Wow... Is there a little beef between you and the band? Seems so....

I'm really looking forward to this. But I hope Findlay and Sarzo, who can be good songwriters, were involved and it's not just Goldy's songs, cause the dude is really uneven when he writes...

Diego Valdez is a beast on vox and it's nice to see him fronting this newborn late-era Dio band.

Anyone checked out this Souldrinker album? It's a top 15 for me. Excellent melodic power with ballsy female vocals. In fact, I thought at first it was a guy, before I saw the video... I talked about it on the other boards. I love this album. I'm not a doom person either, but this isn't really doom in the normal sense. There is definitely that Tony Martin-era Sabbath feel to a lot of it, but I've been calling it 'slow power metal', since that's what it reminds me of. It's heavy w...

I really like the Cyhra album quite a bit. Normally this would be a bit too mellow for me, and the last couple of songs don't do a lot for me, but the rest of the album melodies get caught in my head just about every day these days.
