Noveria "Gates of the Underworld" Musically a Symphony X clone, but with vocals more akin to Italian power metal. I believe this is their third album, and they keep getting stronger. Musically this is SPOT ON SX right down to the guitar tones and keyboard orchestrations.... Only thing holding it ba...

TOP 50 #50 Dominum - Hey Living People Very late entry only released only a few days ago that could have moved higher if released sooner. Good mix of hard rock, power and pop at times. https://youtu.be/KpjLnkI3qHA #49 ScreaMachine - Church Of The Stream Cool heavy/power from Italy. https://youtu.be/...

Not a real question, I guess, as it sounds like he's home in Sri Lanka still putting out music, just not necessarily in our favorite genres. Listening to the second Faro CD today and realizing how much I miss his voice. ****Yes, I was thinking of him the other day when I was organizing my CD rack (...

METAL CHURCH - Congregation of Annihilation Hmmm ... that was a total let-down. Music here does not reach the standard of the last two Mike Howe releases (and obviously has nothing on the old classics), and vocals are just within an inch of being horribly annoying. Time to shut it down Kurdt! Don't...

Well, I'd need to work on a list. But you should have mentioned, name your fave albums from the bands that emerged during the NWOBHM. Cause for me, a NWOBHM faves list should only have albums from between 1980 and 1985, more or less, the true period of this era.

My top 50 of 2021 (with YouTube links)

Top 50 of 2021 : #50 Herman Frank - Two For A Lie (heavy/power metal) https://youtu.be/YdlSg4ttUh8 Good old Herman keeps releasing his traditional heavy/power stuff in the Accept style, again with powerhouse Rick Altzi on vocals. Not disappointing in anyway at all Herman Frank - Two For A Lie is basic modern power metal with a traditional feel to it. Great riffs, songs have lots of energy, Rick Altzi on vocals some cliché lyrics, but this is boot stomping metal at it's best. Herman is still able to write some great melodic ...
