Re: MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST, Montreal, Quebec, Canada (March 12, 2018)
Schenker was awesome, really into it. Talked to the crowd a few times as well. Really a killer guitarist and one of my faves ever. All the guys seem to get along well, they smile all the time and really seem to enjoy playing and singing together. Really cool. I feel blessed to have attended a kind ...

That looks like a really cool show. Good to see Schenker back in the game for some years now. Looks like he has things together. Super player. I would love to see this show. The novelty act of the FB page has vanished pretty quickly for me. It's nice to have but I'm still reading this board more often. Easier to sift thru the posts and my interests although time is scarce for me lately.

You're a bit early for this one. If I were you, I'd ask the week prior to the festival.
Unfortunately, it won't be me. I'm so looking forward to this show.

Ugh... Wasn't a fan of his last effort as the big melodies of the debut Lullubies were gone.
With the colder sound you're talking about, I'm thinking I won't like this one either.

Inflikted, the first album, is amazing. I like Blunt Force Trauma, but started getting tired of Max putting out albums left and right between Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy. I still like what I hear, but I don't feel the need to own any of it right now. Thanks for the tip, I'll check this one out....

Re: Cavalera Conspiracy anyone?
To me, CG isn't a really heavy band but more of a melodic metal one with big prog influences. Doesn't mean it's not awesome though. :) It's true in general, but this particular song (Red Sharks) is more heavy than their other songs. But even this song is maybe not that heavy compare to these days h...

I don't think I can get into this band based on this song on Youtube. I'm not much into that kind of vocals... When I need a heavy dose I often play Crimson Glory - Red Sharks very loud with my headphones... Awesome! Had I known you would've tried this Gaétan, I would've told you from the get go no...

Cavalera Conspiracy anyone?
From time to time, I need some real heavy stuff to balance the Ying and the Yang. So, I started playing some old school thrash classics and I stumble on Sepultura - Roots. It sounds a bit dated today but there is some good stuff on there. Then, a good friend of mine points me towards the Cavalera br...

This is the ex Amaranthe guy's new band (don't know the name, not a fan). It's filled with excellent mélodies, some pop here and there and the best part is that amazing singer. One of the best I've heard in a long while. It's been stuck in my player for the last 2 weeks. Definitely making the top 5...

I don't post often lately cause I have a new job keeping me real busy but this one needs to be talked about. I'll be blunt: This is probably their best since Clone. Morgan brings back some aggressiveness in the singing and the happy sing-along songs are kept to a minimum which is good from my point ...

Re: Prog power so far.....
The Portnoy extravaganza was partially ruined by the Haken singer. Should have let the guitarist sing, he was way better and much more soulful. But I've never liked the Haken singer's nasal style. Overall it was pretty good, but yah... it felt like a cover band, as there was little charisma from th...

When Pig Destroyer comes before Images and Words, you know there's something wrong.
They got most of the classics right but there are way too many hipster discs. I gotta mention I'm happy they put in my fave Manowar disc with Hail to England.
Still, fun read...

It's a double whammy for me ...... not only do I not like the song and think that it was way out of place on an other wise perfect disc, my bigger gripe was that it was a cover song in the first place ....... I enjoyed this disc, although it really doesn't sound all that different from Airbag to me. This kind of moody and laid-back prog-rock appeals to me nowadays as long as I am in the mood for it. If you aren't then this won't be for you. ***I think his previous disc was much better than this one .......

It can be dense at times so those of you who can't bear that side of prog, stear clear. But those of you who like their prog to be challenging, this is definitely for you. With this said, I find Tetrafusion's music very unintimidating and pleasant to listen to despite its density and difficult musi...
