Re: I'm stuck in a 3-way decision for disc of the year......

Easy decision of you ask me, the Kingcrow is the best of the 3, the Romeo is cool so it’s be #2 and unfortunately, the Ostura left me cold even if there wasn’t much to grab on when it came out.

There. ;)

Re: Lost In Thought - Renascence

Holy crap this is awesome!!! Filled with melodies, hooks, great singing, musicianship is top notch, what else do you want?

This gives the Seventh Wonder a run for its money in the melodic progmetal genre. Highest recommandations.

Re: Universe Effects - Desolation

Just got to this one. The music is stellar and while the singer isn’t Gildenlow, he’s not as bad as some comments I’ve read. Really liking this. I’ll see with more spins but so far so very good. With this one, the Redemption, Kingcrow, Alien Weaponry, Seventh Wonder, Mystery, Southern Empire, Vola,...

Re: Alien Weaponry

I wish I liked thrash so I could be into these folks. I just...really don't like thrash at all. I gave them a shot when NPR did a feature on them months ago, and I love the concept but ehhhh. My loss, I guess. You don't like thrash? Do you like death metal? Black metal? Old stuff like Sepultura? Ev...

Re: Alien Weaponry

I've spent more time with this and it's been getting better and better. This is heavy, melodic at times, no death vox and definitely thrash. The use of Maori language and chanting fits the music perfectly, it's different and fresh. It's like they took Sepultura's recipe and improved it. Try this: ht...

Re: Vacation?

Nothing much of interest for me since the beginning of the year. I'm going back in time to old favourites like Shadow Gallery, some classic hair metal and some thrash.

I'll try the Xenoverse and the Alien Weaponry.

Cheers people!

Re: MICHAEL SCHENKER FEST, Montreal, Quebec, Canada (March 12, 2018)

Schenker was awesome, really into it. Talked to the crowd a few times as well. Really a killer guitarist and one of my faves ever. All the guys seem to get along well, they smile all the time and really seem to enjoy playing and singing together. Really cool. I feel blessed to have attended a kind ...

That looks like a really cool show. Good to see Schenker back in the game for some years now. Looks like he has things together. Super player. I would love to see this show. I caught MSG only once in my life. Glad you got to see it G. Schenker was awesome, really into it. Talked to the crowd a few ...

The novelty act of the FB page has vanished pretty quickly for me. It's nice to have but I'm still reading this board more often. Easier to sift thru the posts and my interests although time is scarce for me lately.

You're a bit early for this one. If I were you, I'd ask the week prior to the festival.

Unfortunately, it won't be me. I'm so looking forward to this show. :)

Re: Bjorn Riis - Coming Home - a new EP!

Ugh... Wasn't a fan of his last effort as the big melodies of the debut Lullubies were gone.

With the colder sound you're talking about, I'm thinking I won't like this one either. :(

Voted physical but I tend more and more to buy digital. Reasons are fast availability, takes no space and it's the future anyway. I give 10 years tops to the physical thing unfortunately.

The problem with your assumption is that policies that distribute from the rich to the poor create poor states. We have in Quebec the most socialist of the provinces in Canada and we're slowly but surely becoming the poorest of them all. Entrepreneurs tend to leave here because they can make more el...

I want to get the vibe of the disc, the style, how are the players, the singer and what it sounds like. Track by track is of no interest to me.
