Re: Ostura: Stop what you are doing and listen now

CD arrived - booklet is beatiful. Unfortunately it’s a cd-r, but hey ... better than not getting this amazing disc at all ! Strange.... Mine arrived today and it was a standard pressed disc..... No CD-R. Doubtful. Band told me CD Baby replicated 100 CDrs. No glass mastering. They are in the process...

Re: New Horizons - Inner Dislocation

I played about half of this disc on You tube ...... the music was fantastic, but the singer is just a bit much for me .......much to heavy on the accent, ans sometimes the powerful music just simply overpowers him..... it feels like a discussion we would all have back in 1998-2002 with the slew of ...

Its possible it does but if all your friends have them I wouldn't worry about it too much. Besides you are done having kids.

Re: PM: Continuum FB Group

I've been having a lot of fun with the FB group. I can't believe how many old PMers we haven't heard from in years are on there. I don't think it will ever replace the PM forums, just complement them. I resisted FB for a long time, partially because I didn't understand how it works. I eventually ga...

Re: PM: Continuum FB Group

I have to admit that D's FB group is a lot of fun. I'm seeing a lot of old PM names turning up talking about all the music that built this forum and its predecessor. Even Stevie Wonder is there. Truth is forums are essentially dying. My Laser's Edge forum is on life support, This one maybe has a lit...

Adagio - Life in stock

Its been some time since Adagio released a new album. "Life" was crowdfunded and self-released by the band. We were able to sort out a deal with them and have copies in stock at a very nice price.

Re: MAgma & Chromatica

Larry summed it up pretty well. They sing in an invented language called Kobian which has derivation in old Germanic. They created a mythology about the planet Kobia...well...I think you get the idea. Magma live is a much more intense experience than Magma on record. Matt Johnsen is a heavy convert ...

Re: Bjorn Riis - Forever Comes to an End .......

I enjoyed this disc, although it really doesn't sound all that different from Airbag to me. This kind of moody and laid-back prog-rock appeals to me nowadays as long as I am in the mood for it. If you aren't then this won't be for you. ***I think his previous disc was much better than this one .......

Re: Quick Thoughts on Some Recent Purchases

I think in hindsight it may well be that there just isn't anything really EXCITING breaking right now, hence the lack of passion on many of these threads. Maybe it's just me (this happens to all of us at one point or another) but it seems like a lot of the new releases I'm hearing are GOOD, but not...

Now, I doubt any of the above is the digital direction you're wanting to go, but as far as backups go, let me make a suggestion: RAID NAS. I lost the internal HD my music was on a year or so ago and had to do a restore off the external Seagate drive I was using for backups. Within a month or so of ...
