Re: The post about re-masters ....... good or bad ?

As I've said elsewhere, Evergrey's Solitude, Dominance, and Tragedy re-master sounds great, compared to the original. ***Definitely on my re-master to buy list ..... thanks for the reminder !!!!! Did you ever check this out? Curious as to what you think of it... Sorry to barge in, but I did buy bot...

Xenoverse- smooth as silk prog rock/metal

It's polished and falls into the Shadow Gallery/Royal Hunt vibe. The disc isn't that heavy, but old farts stuck in the past like Larry can get their fix.

Alkaloid- Technical death metal meets Yes

Alkaloid are back and throwing everyone for a loop. They have blended later day Yes (think Owner of Lonely Heart) with technical death metal with outstanding results. Clean vox & brutal grunts are split fairly even.

Alien Weaponry

It's catchy as hell thrash ala Sepultura. However, before you ask wtf am I writing about it on a prog forum, have a listen. The melodies are infectious and the unique part is the vocals are in the Maorian language of the New Zealand tribes. The band is starting to blow up on the scene. You really do...

Karmic Juggernaut- "progressive freakout fusion"

Karmic Juggernaut: They call themselves "Progressive Freakout Fusion." Think A wilder Thank You Scientist combined with hints of DSO & lots of jazz fusion. If you just listen to one song, you are going to miss out on the glorious chaos of styles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeAFuV8...

To each their own and you can knit-pick shit to death, but I immediately thought of What the Water Gave Me when I heard My Indigo. I'm not talking carbon copy, but the vibe is very similar to me.

He didn't join the group till 2014. "Legacy" was released in 2015 and "Gravity" comes out next month.

Thus, your old ass can use youtube or spotify like the rest of it.

And yes, suck it.

Re: Conception back with classic line-up!

So my first thoughts on all this... the timing in all this is quite suspect. Kamelot's new album comes out itomorrow. This surfaces at the same time? And on the heels of Roy's contemporary Christian tune that just gained a bit of momentum this week? Plus, the biggest thing that bugs me....Roy is a d...

Sadly, this is only available for streaming in the U.S. currently. The band is working on digital options, but their hands are tied by their label (Universal). They are hoping to get it on Amazon soon.

Re: Ostura: Stop what you are doing and listen now

This a STRONG album of the year candidate. It's Aryeon musically meets Epica orchestrally. Throw is some Beyond the Bridge atmosphere (with the male/female leads) and Symphony X grooves for good measure.

Unfucking real.

Good stuff. Vocalist has a Zak Stevens vibe going on. Video says album was 2017, but it was only released last month. Full album is on spotify.

Remember the Robert Frost poem? "Two roads diverged in a wood..." That describes the musical preferences of Claus & I. I just cannot follow him down the gloom/doom and classic/retro path. If he mentions those words, then fuck that stuff. I'm out without even listening. That said, there...
