Re: New Seventh Wonder tune

I'm with SEK. It's not Kingcrow production perfection, but it's not St. Anger Part 2 either. I enjoy it for what it is as opposed to what it is not. If there was a prolific amount of this type of music being made currently, perhaps I'd be more Clausian with my listens.

Drummer is wearing an Alabama cap. That's an automatic middle finger from me.

I did dig Woody Harrelson on the guitar.

Re: ProgPower USA XX

I had to grin at that. I consider their latest, "A Complex of Cages," an album of the year candidate. It's a great mix of old Opeth and Amorphis. Btw, I'm not sure if you have any tolerance for growls at all, but the vocals are about a 70/30 split throughout the disc in favor of the clean...

Speaking of Poets....

If prog fans heard this song without knowing who it was or any preconceived notions, I'd bet my left nut that many would welcome it with open arms as an amazing unknown prog band.

The Paradox Twin- The Importance of Mr. Bedlam

I read an article/review of The Paradox Twin- The Importance of Mr. Bedlam in last month's Prog Magazine. *Wow* This is some fantastic heavy prog rock, It has that old school UK prog flavor with modern elements of Porcupine Tree & Threshold added. The vocals are excellent. https://www.youtube.co...

Took me 60 seconds to sample and go buy it at their bandcamp page. Thanks for the heads up! Did their bandcamp vanish or do I just suck at the internet today? The single posted before was quite good. I can't wait to try out the full album. You suck. :P https://timethevaluator.bandcamp.com/releases

Re: MYSTERY / Lies and Butterflies......

For the record... 1. That may be the funnies thing Claus has posted in a decade. 2. I don't mind lighter/softer music. It's just a matter of presentation to individual taste. I love Anathema's current direction with both music & lyrics that hit me in the gut. I just can't do the Mystery syrupy a...

For the vinyl fans, they are the original mix. But there is more... we will include a download card for the remixed version in mp3 format. This make sense to anyone? Wtf? Xenoverse- smooth as silk prog rock/metal

It's polished and falls into the Shadow Gallery/Royal Hunt vibe. The disc isn't that heavy, but old farts stuck in the past like Larry can get their fix.

Alkaloid- Technical death metal meets Yes

Alkaloid are back and throwing everyone for a loop. They have blended later day Yes (think Owner of Lonely Heart) with technical death metal with outstanding results. Clean vox & brutal grunts are split fairly even.

It's catchy as hell thrash ala Sepultura. However, before you ask wtf am I writing about it on a prog forum, have a listen. The melodies are infectious and the unique part is the vocals are in the Maorian language of the New Zealand tribes. The band is starting to blow up on the scene. You really do...

Karmic Juggernaut: They call themselves "Progressive Freakout Fusion." Think A wilder Thank You Scientist combined with hints of DSO & lots of jazz fusion. If you just listen to one song, you are going to miss out on the glorious chaos of styles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeAFuV8...

He didn't join the group till 2014. "Legacy" was released in 2015 and "Gravity" comes out next month.

Thus, your old ass can use youtube or spotify like the rest of it.
