Cynic: Refocused...it's awful!
If I had to pick a record that affected me on the deepest level it would have to be Cynic's Focus. It brought a level of experimentation, creativity and imagination to metal that was unheard of at the time. The artistic content was stunning...yet I always knew the album stood at the threshold of gre...

Re: Triumph: Rock & Roll Machine - A Documentary Film
Great documentary. Watched it with Amazon Prime. However, I noticed they skipped any mention of the Progressions of Power album completely. I wonder why?

Re: New Zero Hour - Technocracy
The music is excellent...The production is God awful and amateurish. Eric's vocals are buried in the mix. The whole thing needs to be remixed before it's released.

Archon Angel
This was an unexpected release and boy was I pleasantly surprised. It's kind of a balancing act between Zac Stevens era Savatage and Zacs own band Circle II Circle. Great song writing, great vocals (of course), loads of melody and some tasty guitar leads. My favorite release of the year so far.

Re: New Arch/Matheos..
I couldn't disagree more. John crafts vocal melodies like no one else. His voice has a way of slipping around the instrumental sections. I felt sheer awe hearing his mystical voice again. Good to have Jim and John joining forces again. Spine tingling stuff!

Re: And where is the new Arch/Matheos?
Well, now that the big announcement of a new album from Fates on their old label Metal Blade was announced, I expect the delay has alot to do with not scheduling the release of the records too close together.

And where is the new Arch/Matheos?
The new Arch/Matheos was announced last august and since then...nothing. I was under the impression the record was mostly done. Does anyone know anything about this project? I just found out Fates Warning are back with Metal Blade but no Arch/Matheos news.
