I have their previous 2 releases and I just grabbed this from bandcamp (thanks to a heads up). This is quite excellent. Wow!

Dude its just not a overall good record. Not even on the level of Scarsick. It's pretty much Daniel's solo band now anyway.

The only two studio albums I have never heard are: Cyclorama (2003) Big Bang Theory (2005) Worth it? Not in the same league as their best. I would check The Grand Illusion, Pieces Of Eight, Equinox, and maybe Crystal Ball after those. Based on your response, you probably missed the word "never...

Styx - The Mission (new record)

I wouldn't expect much in new material from Styx these days. Though their live shows are quite good. Anyway, I just ran across this info, and know there are a few old school Styx fans here. so... "Styx fans got a somewhat unexpected surprise when the band announced the upcoming release of a new...

Pretty straight forward tune, but the beefy guitar sound and the vocals kick things up for me. Terrana's drumming doesn't hurt either.

Ya know, I've never care much for Anthrax. The Bush stuff was somewhat interesting. Anyway, after hearing several of their covers, I was quite shocked at how good some of those were. Not that i'm going to go out of my way to hear this again, but it is solid.

With Hen from Haken involved (among other notables), this has been on my hit list for a while. The 2 songs they released sound fantastic! Way too jazz fusion for most here, but for the more adventurous, this should be a home run.

I don't feel like I listened to the same disc as so many of you guys. The "heaviness" seems to be largely confined to a muddied up bottom end guitar tone. Some of the angularity in the riffs harkens back to the old days, and Daniel's voice still sounds freakin amazing, but other than that...
