Re: 2018 top however many (I'm too lazy to count)

Much here I'm not very familiar with. Listening as I write. Here we go, my top...however many this is. Alphabetical until the EPs, which I separated just because. Youtube links are for my favorite track(s) or the ones I feel give the best overall representation of each album. Andy Hauck - The Windin...

Re: New Evergrey album

That song was exactly what I don't like about quite a bit of prog metal. It starts out good, and the hints of death metal in the riffing is interesting, but that chorus. Ugh. It's slow, and lazy, and the melody is kind of an amorphis blob of crooning that doesn't seem to go anywhere. It's so unmemo...

This! The riffs are what I love the most about Evergrey. They have been MIA. To be honest I haven’t loved an Evergrey recording in a very long time. This one has potential.

Re: Digital Man's Top 10 Of 2018

Not necessarily “nu-metal” but definitely an attempt at going in a much more polished/modern direction. To me it sounds like an oriental version of Epica style power/symphonic metal. “All is One” wasn’t back to full fledged “middle eastern prog” but it was more focused and unique that OrWarrior. Wi...

I don’t really think much about a top 10 list throughout the year while I'm listening to music unless someone bings it up, or of course at the end of the year when everyone is doing them. I think it will come down to Kingcrow and Haken for me. After seeing Haken just kill it last night, I give Vector the edge right now. Love Kingcrow too though.

Redemption and Seventh Wonder, would be the next in line I think.
