Three emotional discs I haven't played in awhile.....

Given the current mood lately, I reached for some emotional music to coincide with it ...... I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, but I was looking to get some goosebumps out of it and here is what happened ...... 1) PAIN OF SALVATION / The Perfect Element - Part 1 I remember way back when .....

Re: Knowing an Album

The difference is how much of our musical appreciation capacity are we currently using. When my two fav albums ever, DT Images and Words and FW- APSOG, were released I'd only really started dabbling into the prog world and didn't have much to compare or contrast. My mind, heart and soul wasn't fill...

... and then scrolled up and hit Sunburst - Fragments of Creation, which I'd forgotten how much I love. Interestingly this came up this week for me as well. Been a while since I listened. It still gives me the Conception meets Nevermore vibes, which is a great thing. I believe they are working on a...

Re: What are you listening to right now?

Prospekt - The Illuminated Sky, 2017. A fine album released by Sensory, so maybe you all already know it? :) Great melodic technical progressive metal, reminds of early Circus Maximus and Symphony X. Can't remember if I've listened to it since it came out, but it was pretty OK. The debut EP and fir...

The only two Crimson Glory's that I can get into is Transcendence and the self-titled one before. Strange and Beautiful was just too much of a departure for me to enjoy. DRACONIAN - Under a Godless Veil I still think it's a crying shame that Heike left the band, and while the albums with Lisa were good, I doubt that Draconian will ever again make anything as powerful as this one ("Under a Godless Veil") or "Sovran". Heike's voice is a one-of-a-kind, whereas Lisa is...
