Re: Dream Theater - A View from the Top of the World
I am enjoying it, but I think I like DT a lot more than most of the PPUSA folks do at this point. I think Answering the Call is the best song they have put out since Count of T and Transcending Time is the best prog rock - not prog metal - song they have done since anything on Oct. Awaken the Master...

Re: Shadow Gallery appreciation
Love SG and Tyranny is their pinnacle by far for me. I don't rate it higher than SFAM, but it's def in the same conversation at Remedy Lane, Streets, and Mercy Falls for me. I think the biggest issue is that when you are mostly a studio band, it's hard to turn it into a career. And that means everyo...
Re: LTE3!
I can't understand how you both can say this. This is some of the most musicality I have heard in a while. I have had this on repeat for days. It's so amazing.
To each their own, but many I can't say how wrong you both are enough.

Re: The Forgotten Heroes of Prog Metal Thread
I am really surprised that no one has mentioned Divine Regale http://www.progarchives.com/progressive_rock_discography_covers/5081/cover_925921122009.jpg http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=5081#:~:text=DIVINE%20REGALE%20is%20a%20progressive%20metal%20band%20formed,and%20earning%20them%20rave...

The Omega Experiment
I did search first, because I thought for sure there would be a past thread about this, but could not find any. I had no clue this existed. I heard a podcast on PRM yesterday that mentioned it and holy shit - that was an experience. I know the area they are from really well (Muskegon MI) and man. I ...

TSO Live Stream tonight?
anyone else doing the livestream? I am hoping for some Savatage songs since we got Chance a few years ago.
LTE3!
Not sure about all of you, but the Liquid Tension Experiment 3 news is monumental news for 2020 in my eyes. I was that the infamous Chicago LET show 20something years ago where Jordan's rig broke and it became a strange night of jamming and seeing Charlie Benante join them. I saw them in London so I...

Re: Dream Theater / Distant Memories - Live in London ..... bluray / CD set.
I don't have the physical yet cause I got the special edition, and it is delayed by CM but oh well. I have listened to it on Spotify. So only audio comments right now. I don't think the mix is bad at all. It's much better than the live mix IMO. I saw the show three times, and MM kick drum was so low...

Re: Time for end of year lists ?
That's an album I have continually forgotten to check out. It was my second most streamed album of the year, by far. the first time in maybe 5 years that SFAM wasn't one or two. LOL (number one was the Light the Torch Album). It's not DT, it's not LTE, but man it just has that JP feel. and it feels...

I love it - even if it feels like Jim is 'done' with FW. You can totally get that vibe. But I think Joey and Bobby are amazing on this disc and Ray has figured out where his current vocal strengths are and stays in that lane very well.

Re: Time for end of year lists ?
what really surprises me is that John Petrucci's solo disc is not on more lists - Terminal Velocity is my second most listened to album this year! It's so damn good.
