Slaughter to Prevail - Conflict. LOL, I'm not sure what's wrong with me other than I've become addicted to powerful deathcore breakdowns lol.

Re: Three emotional discs I haven't played in awhile.....
Given the current mood lately, I reached for some emotional music to coincide with it ...... I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not, but I was looking to get some goosebumps out of it and here is what happened ...... 1) PAIN OF SALVATION / The Perfect Element - Part 1 I remember way back when ....

Eternity X - The Edge - Ya know some Cds don't age well, but I still love playing this as much now as I did when it first came out. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but to me it's a masterpiece. The weird part is, I don't care at ALL for their other CDs before this, which is weird.

Epica - Rivers - by FAR the best ballad Simone has ever sung. Absolutely breath-taking. There's no other way to put it, not to mention incredibly deep and introspective lyrics. Yes, it's a beautiful song. Not quite sure what the lyrics mean ... something about moving on from a situation you're stuc...

Anette Olzon - New Album
Let's say I was interested at first, but after reading about the songs and reading some lyrics, it looks like it will just be a bible thumping fear-mongering preachy album. So no thank you.

Exit Eden - Exit Eden - Femmes Fataes Normally I'm not into Covers, but these write some of the best damn cover tunes ever! I know they are good when they make me love certain pop songs that I would normally hate LOL. They are just good at putting a great metal spin on songs and of course with great...

Re: New Crimson Glory tune...
The only two Crimson Glory's that I can get into is Transcendence and the self-titled one before. Strange and Beautiful was just too much of a departure for me to enjoy. Although I respect that many love Strange and Beautiful. Thinking about this takes me back to the late 80s and early 90s and when ...

I'm surprised Claus that you don't like live concerts...........I take it that means that you don't like going to concerts either? I love concerts ... Orphaned Land / A Heaven You May Create - CD/DVD This is a live show of OL 30th Anniversary ..... can you believe it ? And like it says on The Lasers Edge site, how to celebrate ? Put out a live disc ......that is always fine by me, and I agree with any band that puts out a live disc, especially on...

****I do believe that this harkens back to what I've been saying for some years now ..... and that is AGE. Sadly, we are aging, and as we do, our tolerance level for certain things goes down ..... while it is fun to watch these kids oogle and drool over singers like Tommy, Todd, Dino and many other...

Okay, I'll post my biggest shitburger of the year, and I absolutely never at all expected this. Kamelot - Awakening I admit, I've not been the biggest fan of Tommy Kamelot over the years. Mostly because their live show has kinda stagnated a bit, and the albums haven't had the same pop. But man, I l...

Regarding "The Warning" , I absolutely love Todd, but I can't see him singing songs like "Roads to Madness" and "Before the Storm" and doing them justice.... Especially now since his voice appears to be on the decline like Larry mentioned.... In addition to the EP, The Warning has some of the highes...

I would've said the same as all of you, until this summer. I hadn't listened to any power metal for a long while, and bought Helloween's latest several years ago out of a sense of duty and respect. I wasn't paying much attention to power metal and didn't really care about any of the new bands that ...

Speaking of doom, man I really miss old Solitude Aeturnus. I remember when "into the depths of sorrow" came out. Damn what a great record. Incredibly depressing, but hey it's doom so it suppose to be. Also a fan of "Through the Depths of sorrow" and "Beyond the Crimson Horizon..... The song "It came...

Did you mean Jinjer? Can’t stand them, sorry. Yea that's the band......... Yea they aren't everyone's cup of tea. My point is that anyone that thinks Tatiana isn't a good singer probably should listen to all of the vocal coaches who have nothing but high praise her for her insane vocal abilities......

Yup, she is great. Unfortunately their songwriting skills aren't good enough to make them a top tier band in my opinion. What they do, they do fine - and "Time Stands Still" in particular was a good album - but they aren't ever going to be able to write a truly great disc. Since we are talking abou...

In fairness to old people, Lars was a shitty lazy drummer as a youth too. I don't agree with that. Damn, I have a very hard time believing that Rob Halford is 72 years old when I listen to him on this track..........He sounds damn good.......This kind of reminds me of the semi-older Priest from the Painkiller era and I l like it!!!

My house is 100% fantasy nerdery, and I don't listen to much power metal anymore. To me it's because the music is cliched and boring. Virtually all power metal is stamped from one mold, and I just don't have much love for things coming from that mold anymore. The lyrics being silly as hell isn't ev...

Why does that seem hy...
