Re: Alien Weaponry

I wish I liked thrash so I could be into these folks. I just...really don't like thrash at all. I gave them a shot when NPR did a feature on them months ago, and I love the concept but ehhhh. My loss, I guess. You don't like thrash? Do you like death metal? Black metal? Old stuff like Sepultura? Ev...

Re: WALLS OF BABYLON - A Portrait Of Memories

Guillaume, I agree on Leverage big time!!! Peika Heino is an absolutely amazing under-rated singer. I love his mid-ranges, especially on songs like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZFi_g3jyGw the vocals on this are soooo good and emotional, and he doesn't sound like anyone else, which is another plu...

Re: 2018 So Far

Dang Larry, and I was so excited for Therion too. Amazon has 10 reviews and all of them were 5 star ratings, calling it absolutely "epic".....I'll trust your judgement on this one, as many are saying it's more rock than metal, and I always prefer their metal stuff, so I have a feeling I'd ...

Re: LaBrie cancels PPUSA performance

I haven't cared for a DT CD since Scenes of a Memory came out. That was the last cd by them that I actually liked...........The magical days are long gone........

Re: Zero Hour - The Towers of Avarice

I'm one of the few who think that the original Zero Hour (then re-released as Metamorphosis) is one of the best prog metal discs ever.......I still do, and when Metamorphosis was released, it was like hearing it for the first time all over again ........ I think the thick production, the keyboards,...

Zero Hour - The Towers of Avarice

I broke this cd out for the first time in a long time tonight......... Man, I forgot just how good this cd is. It seems pretty timeless too. It doesn't feel like it's dated....Still one of my favorites of all time!!

Re: Ostura: Stop what you are doing and listen now

Wow! I can't wait to buy this! In the meantime, got it playing non-stop on Spotify. Just have to deal with the sub-par Spotify quality until I can buy the real thing....

Re: Ayreon Universe - The Best Of Live

I keep going back to Damian's performance on "The Druids Turn to Stone". Holy Crap he's good on that song.....Probably my favorite vocal performance of the concert. So much passion and emotion.

Re: Ayreon Universe - The Best Of Live

Apologies for the crude analogy, but it's the musical equivalent of blueballs! *** Couldn't have said it better myself - and I have had that condition before when I was a kid - NOT GOOD !!!!!! Sorry about your ankle Larry :(. I'm sure you are going to love this when you finally get a chance t...

Re: Ayreon Universe - The Best Of Live

My copy arrived yesterday, but haven't watched it yet. I'm not even the biggest Ayreon fan ever but this Blu-Ray seemed like a must buy. I knew it was going to be a high quality production of a very special live event, so had to have it especially for the price. Now I'm really looking forward to wa...

Re: Ayreon Universe - The Best Of Live

All I can say is that this has got to be one of the best concert DVDs I've ever owned in my life, and I own a ton of them. It is truly a magical experience....I had goosebumps the entire time. It starts off a bit slow, but once it gets going, it turns into an absolute beast!! And everyone is so happ...
