Re: ARENA / Double Vision ..... first thoughts.

To me, "The Seventh Degree Of Separation" with Paul Manzi on vocals is truly excellent! Ok it doesn't have an epic / prog song, but it doesn't matter because now we have it with the last disc!

Ok, I've just watched this... This is a must have concert on Blu-ray...
My only complain is this: Cutting in half great songs for playing about 1 hour of not great songs (mostly recent stuff)...

Now, about the album...
I love it! An essential Arena disc!
Of course the epic song could not be better than "Moviedrome" but this is still a great one!

Re: Ostura: Stop what you are doing and listen now

At CD Baby when it's a CD-R, they use to mention it. For example if you look at Néodyme - Le Guetteur. I have this and it's a CD-R like mentioned on CD Baby web site. When I look at Ostura - The Room, CD Baby says "CD" not "CD-R". It's not impossible that this could be an error o...

Re: Ostura: Stop what you are doing and listen now

I don't think it will change the sound... It's still the same series of 1 and 0... It's a question of durability. Factory press CD are much durable. The difference is easy to see. The reading surface of factory press CD really look silver. The reading surface of a CD-R looks darker (more blue). They...

From Conception: Live 1981 (2007): Recorded in 1983!
Return To The East Live 2016 (2018) with a Japanese look cover art: Recorded more than the half in the USA, less than the half in Japan!

Re: ARENA / The Visitor - remastered.......WOW !!!!!

In general I think remastered are fine if we are talking about an album that didn’t sound too great to begin with because of how it was done first (ehmmm Nevermore), or because of age (the Deathrow album), but something fairly new that already sounded great in the first place such as the Arena disc...

I don't want to start a genre war so you can replace the word "progressive" by "complex" if you prefer... Some metal bands in the list may have started before 1988 to add a progressive element to their music. I also included in the list their 1988 prog metal album... But I think ...
