I'm currently playing the album "A Tower Of Silence" (2011)...
It sounds really good... not sure how to describe this... This is not exactly classic neo-prog...

For me the best is to buy CDs and rip them in flac. At least go flac all the way and convert the flac files to the format you want and the bitrate you want when needed. If you change your mind about the format or the bitrate, simply repeat the process, no problem, your source is perfect (flac files)...

The only thing I use streaming for (Spotify) is to check out new bands or releases, then if I like it I prefer to own it. Yeah, as you said, it's better to own it. Spotify so far is a financial pit. They have never made a profit so far... This situation cannot last forever. I don't know the future ...

Based on Uncle Claus' suggestion that I go back and check out the previous two Paul Manzi discs, I played "The Unquiet Sky" and "The Seventh Degree" back to back-- after playing "Double Vision" ........ "Double Vision" blows those two others away ...... hands...

I have on Blu-ray the Rush documentary "Beyond The Lighted Stage". If I remember correctly the band said that without Neil Peart this is the end of Rush... So if it's still true, this might be the end...

I bought the their 3 CDs used and the concert DVD... As I'm writing this and reading your post, "Through the Looking Glass" is currently playing... I have a feeling that this might be my favorite Shadowland album as well... Just be before I was playing their first album "Ring Of Roses...

This is interesting... First album in 1992... Clive Nolan on vocals before forming Arena... Karl Groom on guitar before forming Threshold... To be honest, I was a bit skeptical about Clive voice in this band... I think this is because what I heard before was mainly backing vocals with Arena for exam...

To me, "The Seventh Degree Of Separation" with Paul Manzi on vocals is truly excellent! Ok it doesn't have an epic / prog song, but it doesn't matter because now we have it with the last disc!

My only complain is this: Cutting in half great songs for playing about 1 hour of not great songs (mostly recent stuff)...

I love it! An essential Arena disc!
Of course the epic song could not be better than "Moviedrome" but this is still a great one!

In general I think remastered are fine if we are talking about an album that didn’t sound too great to begin with because of how it was done first (ehmmm Nevermore), or because of age (the Deathrow album), but something fairly new that already sounded great in the first place such as the Arena disc...
