Re: Images of Eden - Soulrise (new release)

As I mentioned earlier ordered this and should be here Tuesday! Sounds like a serious evolution in their sound, production and vocals. This one I feel is gonna be GOOD!

Re: MYSTERY / Lies and Butterflies......

I had this playing pretty low in the car with my wife last night so mostly what was heard were vocals, and sure as shit she said they sound like Air Supply. I really enjoyed the previous album, but this one is needing to sink in a bit for me. The closing track is worth the price of the album, though...

Re: COLLIBUS - Trusting The Illusion

I dig the hell out of this. I swear when I first heard a tune a few days ago I didnt know it was a female vocal. It straight up sounded like an atmospheric David Readman. These vocal parts are written for a male tenor, and she nails this material. I'll tell you how impressed I am, and this will show...

What I heard this morning was pretty damn good, I was just pissed off I ended up with the bullshit Amazon CDR. it's that on demand crap that I hadn't seen before I pushed the one click purchase button. I'll spin on the way home from work today but Im heated that I wasn't paying attention and will ha...

Re: Redemption - Long Night's Journey Into Day (July 27, 2018)

I'm not sure what or how to feel with this. It's obviously amazing and I agree the youtube sample has the vox too low but Im sure that's not how it'll be on disc. As impactful as Nicks music has been on me over the last decade plus I was torn with a new vocalist to deliver it. i was waiting for Ray ...

Re: Question about Praying Mantis - for you AoR people....

Legacy is amazingly decent. He isn't used to his potential on that or the new release. I'm in the Tony O'Hora camp of Praying Mantis. Those two albums are melodic rock/metal gems. Kinda like Royal Hunt without the bombast.

Re: New Kamelot single

I'll just say it, this new one is crap. Devoid of character or an original thought, Shadow Theory has finally broken me as a fan. Much like the last Circus Maximus, my first and only spin of this album was spent in perpetual WTF face as I tried to process how boring and lifeless this collection of t...

Re: BOREALIS - The Offering

I took a chance on this even though I didn't care for the previous. I'm glad I did as this is stellar. I didnt get the loudness factor that many did but that could have been my stereo. This is super tight and crisp and has good dynamics.

I'll have to relisten to this because I found pretty much all Arena bland and void of melody and have never really liked any of their albums. I'm willing to try again, though. perhaps Ive gotten smarter

Re: Lyra's Legacy: For all you old fucks that miss crunch & keys

Lyra's is okay. nothing super special. Singer is quite limited in range and delivery. not bad. not something I need to spin again soon.

Now, this Ostura thats been mentioned...I'll have to look into that.

I'm off work tomorrow so I think I'll spin some of this. I've got like 15 or more albums I haven't yet gotten to.

BTW, Gods of Silence is pretty damn badass. Its basically the band Kirk witha diifferent vocalist and slightly heavier. Thats first in tomorrows rotation

Quick thoughts The Galneryus singer has a bit of an accent... If Id not watched the video but instead just listened I'd have sworn Vanish was Brainstorm/Symphorce. Thats good in most cases. I just ordered. I had heard a Damnations Day tune before this one and it kinda annoyed me with the vocal screa...

I always try to get a CD, but I understand with indie bands that isn't always a possibility, so no big deal. I sometimes purchase both. If I like the music enough after listening to the mp3's I'll grab the CD as well as a companion piece. The other issue anymore is the lack of CD booklets and having...
