Re: Entropia is 20 years old?

So weird, I hardly see anyone listing The Perfect Element as their fav PoS,disc.......as it is mine. I like Entropia, but I,like the next 3 discs much better....... Go,figure......... Remedy Lane and Perfect Element are 1A and 1B for me, with both being perfect albums. Remedy Lane just barely edges...

Re: Entropia is 20 years old?

Now THIS is funny timing!!! As I click on the board just to check in, and see this thread has a new post, my iPod randomizes to "Oblivion Ocean" off Entropia. Given that I have probably about 750 CDs on here right now, this is pretty amazing to me..... :)

Re: David Gilmour releases another concert......

Is it sad that I get more excited about David Gilmour live releases than I do for a new studio effort? His live albums are all must-own material, as they carry the true magic of Pink Floyd. His new solo material is still just a shell of that.

Re: Anubis Gate - Covered in Black (September 1, 2017)

Haven't seen much feedback on the new Anubis Gate once the full disc became available. Am I the only one NOT impressed? The last couple of songs were really good, but the rest of the album did not do anything for me on first listen. The first track had too much of a modern electronica sound to it, t...

I've been having a lot of fun with the FB group. I can't believe how many old PMers we haven't heard from in years are on there. I don't think it will ever replace the PM forums, just complement them. I resisted FB for a long time, partially because I didn't understand how it works. I eventually ga...

Great review! I will need to go back and re-read the song by song commentaries a little more closely once I have listened to the full album; I just got through most of the first disc on my way in this morning. My thoughts so far: this is 100% Threshold. No more, no less. The songs are unmistakable, ...

Two of them, actually. I like "Black Clouds..." too, but "ADTOE" more. I thought those two albums found Petrucci (and Portnoy) settling in and writing better vocal lines for James than they did on "Images & Words" and that era. Unfortunately, they didn't keep that ...

Chaos Frame - Paths to Exile

Searched the forum and found no mention of this band. I bought this last year at ProgPower and just now got around to listening to it. I will be very surprised if at least 2 of the top 3 below aren't bumped by years end. Ayreon could hang on in the top three, but it's ranking right now is more about lack of great discs this year rather than it being a brilliant album (as good as it is even). 1 - Ayreon "The Source" 2 - Ne...

Iron Maiden - The Final Frontier (I love bloated, prog Maiden, as long as they aren't repeating choruses) Dream Theater - A Dramatic Turn Of Events (No Portnoy, no problem.
