Re: MICHAEL ROMEO - War Of The Worlds Pt. 1

I dig this album. It could've been a Sy X album easily and we'd all be happy. It's more orchestrated SyX, but it has that V feel as Glenn said. The vocalist is no Russ but he does a fine job. A nice surprise.

Re: New Redemption song / video just released 9/10

Having had a chance to absorb this for a week now, adding to the opinion that this is 1) their best yet and 2) strong contender for the album of the year. It's that good. Two main reasons: 1) Songwriting tweaks> melodies seem a bit more accessible as compared to Art. Within all of technicalities of ...

Re: ELDRITCH - Cracksleep

I like it quite a lot as well, their top 3 album for sure (El Nino being the best). proggy, melodic stuff and less or none of the thrashy influences. Really good stuff. Last one was also solid in my book.

Echoing what Claus said - it didn't sink in right away but I've come around that this is a very solid album by them. Better than the last for sure. Weirdly, all 4 albums since DC rejoined are good but not great, and for me have no long staying power. A Life to Die for is probably the best in my book...

Re: BOREALIS - The Offering

I think it's another very good effort by these young Canadians.I'd say a bit more melodic and a bit more keyboard-driven vs other efforts, but still maintaining that Evergrey feel. My biggest sound gripe is the drum sound - feels triggered and sort of thin. In my book, after re recording World of Si...

Re: Threshold 'Legends Of The Shires' - full review

Great review and I'm with you 100% here. As a Threshold fanboy who loves all of their albums and singers, this is their best effort. The combination of their melodies, smooth arrangements with Glynn's aggressive delivery has created a new feel to their music. Both Mac and Damian vocal delivery fell ...
