Re: Seventh Wonder update ......

I agree with you Nos about there being way too many concept discs out there these days. But, there's one big 'BUT' here...this is Seventh Wonder. 'Mercy Falls' proves that these guys can handle a concept and deliver something special, albeit with the occasional flaw in the storyline!!

Re: A few new reviews over at manofmuchmetal.com

Thanks Larry - it seems that the Sorcerer disc is surprising a lot of people, myself included...and for those that were already fully aware of the talents of this band, they have been rewarded with more killer material. I can't get over how great this thing is. You're also not the only one who rates...

I read the original post & one thing really caught my attention: You don't like blastbeats????! Are you mad?

Only kidding, each to their own. But I can't get enough of blasts myself, I love them. But then I am the Man of Much Metal after all!

Thanks everyone for the kind comments about the review, even if the agreement with my thoughts was not universal across the board. But that's what I like, the fact that we can discuss something coherently, rationally and thoughtfully. And I still love this disc. I'm not sure that anything will beat ...

The return of my musical mojo!

Hi All, Some of you might have noticed that I haven't been around these parts much recently. I kept in the 'game', listening & writing but I noticed I was doing it out of obligation rather than love. I had lost my mojo. But now it seems to have returned & I apologise for the sudden deluge in...

Re: Bjorn Riis - Forever Comes to an End .......

I'm really surprised by the negativity about this record. I don't really know the last one that well, so I can't compare. But this is a wonderful disc to my ears, full of warmth and atmosphere. Not quite as good as the current Airbag, but very close. My detailed thoughts in case anyone is interested...

Tuesday the Sky - Drift

Hi everyone, Surprised this has not got much of a mention around these parts, although it might not be everyone's cup of tea. But, coming from the mind of Fates Warning's Jim Matheos, you know that even an instrumental ambient & atmospheric affair is going to be of a high quality. I love this al...

Witherfall - Nocturnes and Requiems

Apologies if this has been mentioned before but I couldn't see anything... Another new album that I hadn't expected but that has had a big impact on me in recent weeks. It's so sad that the drummer Adam Sagan has passed away because this group of musicians really delivered the goods on this record. ...
