Re: Bjorn Riis - Coming Home - a new EP!

Matt -- I think that you, me and Stevie are the only 3 guys in the world who know who Bjorn Reis is ....... Well almost ........ his first solo effort was fantastic. It cold have been the next Airbag release, which it should have been because I thought Disconnected was awful. That said - Bjo...

Orphaned Land - Unsung Prophets & Dead Messiahs - full review

Hi everyone, For those of you interested, or with an hour or two to kill, I've attached a link to my review of the new Orphaned Land album - I hope some of you enjoy reading it - I don't often say things like this (self-deprecating Englishman as I am!) but I am proud of this one. https://manofmuchme...

Really Larry, I'm surprised you say that - I really liked it. I hope you like this mini album more in that case.

Kingcrow - The Persistence

Hi All, I feel privileged to say that I was able to help Kingcrow a little with their new album & in return, I was granted a listen to the finished album. If you want a little more detail: https://manofmuchmetal.com/2018/01/16/kingcrow-the-persistence-an-update/ Otherwise, one word: wow! Cheers,...

Bjorn Riis - Coming Home - a new EP!

Hi All,

I wasn't expecting anything new from the Airbag guitarist/songwriter, but a new mini-album is welcome news. Out on 23 Feb, I have written a review for anyone who's interested:

Re: Organized Chaos - Divulgence

This is a wonderful album. I don't want to overhype it, but there are parts of it that call back to old Pain of Salvation in my mind. Lalic's voice is powerful and emotive. The music is sublime. And it's got David Maxim Micic on keys, which is icing on the cake for me. The Man of Much Metal and I a...

I'm late to the cause here too, but making up for my mistake - this is really cool. what I like so much about it is the way it maintains proper melodies within the tech fusion going on. That, in my book, is a real winner of an idea!

Looking at all these lists, I'm beginning to think that I must have missed something with Daydream XI...it is very good, better than good in places but I just wasn't sold enough for it to break into my top 30. I think I wanted more in the melody department, or at least for the melodies to speak to ...

Incredible job writing all those reviews. I don’t agree with you on a few of them (hate the new PoS and can’t stand Voyager) but I’m truly impressed by your great reviews. I’ll join the choir of those who are going to have to check out the white moth disc (love Daniel Tompkins voice). Thanks so muc...

I agree with you Nos about there being way too many concept discs out there these days. But, there's one big 'BUT' here...this is Seventh Wonder. 'Mercy Falls' proves that these guys can handle a concept and deliver something special, albeit with the occasional flaw in the storyline!!
