Re: Dreyelands - Stages
Heck, with a capital 'oooohhh'! This is rather excellent, isn't it?! I was aware of this record on the horizon, but I wasn't blown away by the last record, so I wasn't that excited....that has now changed & I am very interested to hear more of this band. I really like this song. Right up my stre...

Re: New Seventh Wonder tune
This is in no way a dig at Kamelot, because I've said all I've said on that score...but this is the Tommy that I want to hear - full of passion, individuality and lending his killer pipes to some excellent, intelligent and melodic prog. No-one sounds quite like SW and that's the biggest accolade I c...

Re: New Kamelot / The Shadow Theory.....
I'm glad I'm not alone with the review issues - I did think long and hard before even writing this review and finally decided to air my issues. On the album itself, I simply can't decide if I like it or not - I've just not had enough access to it to decide. But from what I did hear, I didn't hate it...

In case anyone is interested, I have penned my review of this new Kamelot album...but my review is a little different to my normal fare & I *may* have gone off on a little rant. But perhaps not for the reasons you may think! In short, I'm still on the fence with this release thanks to the decisi...

Yes, yes, yes...once again this board comes up trumps. This is fantastic, so much so that I have tracked the band down & sent them a message asking if I can get hold of a promo to review it. This needs a wider audience. It may not be the most original music out there, but I love the vibe of thi...

Re: New Kamelot single
I'm looking forward to hearing the entire album before making a final decision, but I have to say that I might be 'done' with Kamelot. Not for any other reason than their newer material just leaves me a bit 'meh'. I'm not going to join the 'bring back the 'Karma' era, but that was their best period ...

I forgot to mention that this part in your review had me cracking up: "Kælling is a name that should definitely be taken seriously." - Considering that the name means BITCH in Danish, that sentence there was hilarious to me :) I wish I could say that it was deliberate, but it wasn't! Glad...

Kælling - new prog band worth checking out!
Hi All, I recently came across a new name - Kælling - they are a Portuguese duo and in December they released their debut album, 'Lacuna'. I've been very impressed by them, enough to give the album the full review treatment. They are worth checking out if you like Leprous, Caligula's Horse etc - whi...

It is one of those great albums that just gets progressively better (if you'll excuse the pun!!) - what starts out as a decent record, soon grows into something quite phenomenal.

This is a wonderful album. I don't want to overhype it, but there are parts of it that call back to old Pain of Salvation in my mind. Lalic's voice is powerful and emotive. The music is sublime. And it's got David Maxim Micic on keys, which is icing on the cake for me. The Man of Much Metal and I a...

I'm late to the cause here too, but making up for my mistake - this is really cool. what I like so much about it is the way it maintains proper melodies within the tech fusion going on. That, in my book, is a real winner of an idea!
